NOW Supplements, L-Lysine (L-Lysine Hydrochloride) 500 mg, Amino Acid, 250 Tablets

I have been taking Lysine for many years. This product is the same, but less expensive than most. The capsules are fairly large, but I have no difficulty swallowing them.

Bought to treat shingles. Results in 2 days. Also works for mouth sores (canker sores). Recommend this and tea tree oil/and neem oil topically to clear shingles.

I got this for my dogs itching. He is an older dog and I think he was over vaccinated throughout his life so he has some skin viruses. I read somewhere that lysine helps with the itching and it seems like it did. If you decide to try it, check with your vet first though because it may contradict some medications and other vitamins.

Id rather swallow 2 500mg tablets like these than a larger 1000mg one. Theyre coated making them smoother.

Fulfills what is necessary. I would not recommend swallowing without water. The gel capsules do get stuck.

A pharmacist recommended L-Lysine when I had a very bad case of bronchitis after moving to NYC to work on my doctorate degree in voice. I had been coughing so much which is definitely not good for a singer! An essential amino-acid, it is very good for stress. I heartily recommend it to all in stressful situations and to help general health.

I have been advised by two people in the know that NOW produces good quality products. One person actually visited their manufacturing facilities. The other is a food scientist with a lab.
