> 3 dayI love the idea of having remote control over everything my house so when smart bulbs first came out, I had to try them. I did a lot of research and narrowed down my buying options to the Philips Hue and the TP -Link Kasa bulbs. I ultimately ended up going with the Kasa bulbs since it did not require a separate bridge/hub and I was familiar with other TP-Link products. Needless to say that I was immediately hooked on the technology. Then Amazon had a sale recently on the Philips Hue hub and bulbs. There were so many upgrades from the first generation, that I had to give it a try. Since the price point was the same, I decided to try a set. Im so happy that I did. These are absolutely fantastic! The most notable differences between the two brands: - Setup of the hub and bulb is quick and easy. Philips has a better user interface. Install the app on your phone, press the hub button and the setup is 90% done. - Reaction time when using my iPhone as the remote is significant faster than Kasa. It probably has to do with plugging the Philips hub directly into the router but speed, stability and reliability is what counts. - Lighting scenes are already setup within the Philips apps. Theres no need to spend time creating them one by one like you have to with Kasa. - Additional perks like the scheduling features are like magic. You can set a sunrise and sunset time and schedule your bulbs to automatically turn on or off according to the time of day without much effort. - Lighting product line offering is just hands down, far more superior. I really enjoy Kasas other products like the smart plugs (theyre also one of my favorites) but when it comes down to lighting, Kasa comes up short. I dont see much difference between the two brands when I using my Alexa devices and app. I definitely wont get rid of my existing Kasa bulbs but for future lighting purchases, there really is no comparison. Philips Hue is the way to go. I cant wait to convert the entire house to these amazing lights!

> 3 dayExcellent lights. I have an Echo Plus so no philips hue hub required, since hub is built in to the Echo Plus. Added them to my Alexa app and I can control turn them on/off, and dim from my Echos. I can also control the five different hues (warm white, soft white, white, daylight white, and cool white) from Alexa my Alexa app on my phone.

> 3 dayI originally purchased the classic hue white dimmable bulbs and they were SO warm/ yellow tone, I returned them immediately. These just came and even without adjusting any settings, they are SO much better. I wish they were cheaper, but the classic hue white is terrible, so this was the next step up. If you want to go with smart bulbs, between the hue white and hue ambiance, I definitely recommend these!! Also, one review mentioned not working with Hunter fans and I don’t know what model we have, but it works perfectly fine in ours.

> 3 dayNot much more to say. The Hue product line is a high quality product line. All the Bulbs, of the same model, I have bought so far, have the exact same color hues and brightness.

> 3 dayI recently decided to install ‘smart home’ lighting and other devices in my home, and after some research I decided to give the Philips Hue system a try. I also have quite a few basic non-smart LED bulbs in my home. I’m very happy with the Hue system so far although it is going to take some time to fully understand all of the ways it can be varied and used. I use mine together with the Apple HomeKit system, and the integration with HomeKit has been automatic and without difficulty. There is a huge difference in the price of individual bulbs depending on what they are capable of, beginning with basic LED bulbs that don’t offer the integration with the Hue system (remote operation and programming), and continuing to bulbs that are a part of the Hue system and have features including full color control (most expensive). The Philips Hue system requires the use of a Hue hub connected to your home Wi-Fi system to connect and control Hue specific bulbs and accessories, and there are starter kits to obtain the hub together with two or four bulbs. Initially it took some time to understand the differences between the various Philips Hue bulbs, so here is a quick intro. There are five basic Philips LED bulb types (both Hue and non-Hue bulbs). ALL ARE 60W equivalent, Dimmable, E26 type (standard light bulb): - 1.

> 3 dayI feel I must warn you, these lights are addictive. These lights work very well and it can be tempting to put them in everything. I have Hue Smart Bulbs in my Living Room, Kitchen, and Family Room. These bulbs work best in places where the light switch might be difficult or inconvenient to reach. They are great for lamps in the corner or large rooms with lights control by multiple switches. I dont recommend them for lights controlled by switches you naturally turn on and off as you walk by; entry lights, bedrooms, laundry room. Because you need to leave the light switch on for the smart bulbs to work you dont wont someone accidentally turning them off. The light quality from the bulbs is fantastic. The dim feature has a very wide and nuanced ranged. The Hue App makes controlling all of the lights very easy. The Hue App has a fantastic feature of directly connecting to your Hue Bridge when you are on the same network. This makes controlling your lights through the app very responsive and easy. The control is near instantaneous. Hue has also made the control software for the lights open to everyone. Dont worry, no one will be able to hack your lights. To add new lights and devices you have to physically press a button on the Hue Bridge. But this means the Hue Bulbs have a ton of interconnection with other smart devices and platforms. I am able to pair my lights with my smart thermostat, smart doorbell, and home security system.

> 3 dayI Love how customizable these are! I can create a routine and won’t ever have to come home to a dark house.
