Potter Amseco ODC-59A Overhead Door Switch

Works good. Just powder coating pitted on switch. Still works just looks bad.

I bought this door switch for a roll-up door on my shed/shop. I connected it to an ecolink z-wave door/window sensor so I could alarm my shed. I was having some trouble figuring out how to put a sensor on my roll up door on our new shed and I came across this switch. I figured Id give it a shot since Amazon has a great return policy and the price was low. It worked like a charm, I wired it to an ecolink z-wave sensor, mounted the sensor to the wall, screwed the switch to the floor of the shed and mounted the magnet portion to the bottom of the roll up door. Now, I get an alert (or alarm) whenever the door is opened.

Great replacement, the holes were closer than the Honeywell switch it replaced, so I had to drill new hole in concrete.

Very nice contact. Rounded top and side. Armored cable long enough to reach behind the garage door railing. The magnet is also nice since you can adjust it to you likings. It was perfect fit as a replacement.

Currently using this with wemo maker to detect when the garage is open. Works great, set up was easy.

I expected this to be a complete unit. It does not contain the electronic part that attaches to the wall. I cant use it without the electronics. The electronic motherboard on the wall is larger than the one on my other contacts, and I have not found a way to order a replacement for that. Until I do it is dead in the water and useless.

Works well, probably best option for the money. I was unable to mount this on the side near the steel track, there was too much interference with the magnet to activate the switch. I opted to mount to the top of the garage which was not perfect because the top of my garage panel is not flat. Overall, very pleased with the result. The product itself is very well built.

Its a simple reed switch, but appears solidly constructed. I have this hooked up to a Fortrezz MimoLite to sense when the garage is opened/closed. Control via HomeSeer.

Prompt, as Stated, Pleased Good quality. Very well made. This was the first time I had ever purchased or seen one. A simple set of installation instructions might have helped for installation. It was a real convenience to be able to purchase this item on line. Thank you.
