Powered USB Hub, atolla Aluminum 5-Port USB 3.0 Hub with 4 USB 3.0 Data Ports and 1 USB Smart Charging Port, USB Splitter with 5V/3A Power Adapter and Individual Switches

This is the 3rd or 4th item Ive gotten from them. In general, all my computers with external USB items seem to be running better with powered hubs. We have webcams and powered speakers being used mostly for homeschooling. Being able to change a tablet at the same time is nice too! The only catch is not all the powered units offered on Amazon come with a power supply (my first one didnt), so make sure you ensure it has the power adapter is included if you need it.

It works great

I only like to use powered usb hubs and not bus powered. This hub has been working flawlessly for 2 months now. It powers 2 laser printers without any issue and the charging port that glows red works like a charm. Thanks for a nice well made product.

This USB hub sounded great! Lots of USB ports, and an option to turn them off. But I was sorely disappointed. The product showed the first sign of trouble a few weeks after purchase. At first, the individual switches worked, but after a few weeks, all switches were permanently on, and could not be turned off no matter what I did (unplug, replug, try a different outlet, ..). This also meant a lot of extra illumination in my bedroom which I had to block off. I should have returned right then and there, but I figured I could deal with the hassle. This month, just after the product support window expired, the lights on the outlets began blinking and the outlets stopped charging entirely. Not ideal when you rely on your phone as an alarm clock and it runs out of battery during the night... Im very disappointed and will not be buying this product or other products from this company again.

At first I thought the switches were unnecessary but Ive used it for a while & its now my favorite feature. Can leave the 4TB USB drive connected & power it down when not in use without unplugging it. Overall its working well. Typical use is phone charging, USB drive, USB memory sticks, and CD burner drive.

USB hubs with front/side ports have always been problematic when using, this seems to fix that. However, I recommend you keep a can of compressed air to blow out the dust periodically (this is the drawback of upward facing ports). Nice colors, not too bright for me, but for some people very sensitive to LEDs around the monitor those people might want to throw a small cloth over them. On/off switches seem a bit gimmicky to me. Nice to have a non-data charging port too.

The lights are indicates whether its on or not. I used nano tape to stick it on a vertical pole (pics shows sideways for some reason on Amazon reviews). Its plugged into a USB 3.0 PCIe card on a classic Mac Pro. Havent tried many USB 3.0 devices on it as I dont have many that require 3.0. Ive plugged in a webcam, charged my iPhone, and charged my Pax 3 at the same time. The cables could be a bit longer for my personal usuage as my computer is 4 feet away from my monitor. The electric plug is a bit short too but an extension cable solves that. Might just be my arrangement is a bit odd. Be default all the lights will be on and read another reviewer said its too bright in the darken room. I agree. Not sure if its purely cosmetic or does turning it off actually safe you any drain from you computer or not.

This product is an improvement over the last model. The Power adapter is the same, however the host cable (the one cable that connects to the host device) is now removeable, so you can replace or lengthen or shorten the cable against your needs. Customer service is top shelf. I would rely on this product for the quality and improvments made since last model.

It is a beautiful looking usb hub. My complaint is it shows in universal compatibility that gaming machines are supported. The ps4 is not supported. I have kept it since it does work amazing otherwise.

I have used this for over a month, and have no complaints. It works as expected.
