- using a MacBook Pro 2015 with the 2TB T5 model, so I just connected, opened up Disk Utility and formatted the drive accordingly (in my case, Mac OSX extended, journaled) - no need to use whatever software came in the drive...

Bought 2tb version. Don’t encrypt!!!! Had to return product due to encryption software that came with. Got second unit quickly and it works flawlessly without encryption. Otherwise would have been 5 stars, too bad

Works well as security cam but initially had a problem getting the drive recognized. In order for it to be used for Tesla, there is some security/privacy setting which needs to be disabled which can be done by Samsung software specific for settings for this drive. That was a bit of a pain to figure out.

Got it today. So far no issues. Copied 500 GB of files to it in 22 minutes, USB 3.0 from a mid-2015 15-inch Macbook Pro. Am pleasantly surprised at the speed, fast enough to use as an online drive, opening / saving large files in Photoshop. Didnt reformat the drive and didnt bother with the supplied Samsung software. If any issues surface, Ill amend this review.

So I just bought this drive a bit ago. I started using but all of a sudden now whenever I access it the files wont even load. They are there but the drive does not want to load them. It keeps freezing and prevents me from seeing them. When I get my files off of it Im immediately going to refund this product. Dont even buy this, not worth putting files into danger. Buy another drive or make sure that the drive has good reliability which this drive does not.

Great! Does no lag, super fast. Device stays cool and only warms up when used at high intensity. Previously tried WD SSD which had a slight lag and it was always very warm even when not in use and got very hot when use. This one is far better for the same price.

I paid for a 2TB drive and received at 250GB SSD card.

Works flawlessly with my MacBook Pro 15” 2017, with Thunderbolt 3. Extremely fast!
