I use this unit to back up the server computer in my office each night. The USB-C interface makes it very fast and the small and sturdy form factor make it easy to keep handy.

Simple, sleek and easy to carry anywhere. I would personally recommend this if you want to expand storage for high-end laptop gaming. I tried it for a variety of games and not only was the transfer speed pretty good (internal to external), but I had no performance issues over a couple hours of play.

I bought this two weeks ago and up until this point Ive had positive experiences with Samsung. I went out of town for 5 days and came home and everything I had on the drive magically vanished. I shutdown the computer before I left and no one lives here but me. So unless a ghost broke into my house to erase files, this is a defective and unreliable product that I received. I am not calling tech support to discuss why my files vanished while the computer was off -- that is an idiotic exercise. I will be returning this POS as soon as possible. I bought this to back up my files and it is less reliable than a SATA drive from 15 years ago.

Edit/Addition: I called Amazon customer service, and (since my drive was within the Amazon return window) they gave me instructions to return (for a refund) the now dead drive. So I give Amazon high marks for customer service (and am not actually out the cost of this drive). However, my (negative) experience of the reliability of this specific drive (below) remain.

I have used the T5 to back up my growing hi-rez music collection which currently takes more than 1 TB of space. The copy time is good and I am happy with the purchase.
