I had these in my previous house and loved them! They add timeless charm and I never had a problem with any of them. I am putting them in the house we are building now. They are a bit more expensive than a regular doorknob but worth the price!

Schlage lock sets are always of premium quality and they install easily too. This one, installed at my kitchen/garage door, was re-keyed to match my existing front entry lock set (as well as the locks of my second home). I prefer the lever-type handles as they are easier to deal with when ones hands are loaded with groceries, etc.

I like the quality of Schlage handles, compared to other brands. Some are hollow behind the grip, but Schlage are solid. They are also easier to install than cheaper brands. We have French doors and only one side needed an operating catch. The other is for show. That being said, I gave four stars because I wish the screws did not show. I think there should be a cover cap that fits over the screw section so that it matches the partner door. Even with a non-locking closet handle, it would still look more finished if the screws did not show on outside. In retrospect, I think I could have used a regular double handle set and achieved that look, but it would have required a hole through the door. Seeing I was replacing an existing dummy handle, I didnt want the extra work of drilling a hole. Lazy, I guess.

I initially thought I could cut off a few bucks with Kwikset, but after testing at Home Depot, I learned Id rather pay extra for Schlage. These are superb and add so much to my doors in aesthetics. Then you turn the handle and can feel the sturdiness, which is so important. The tiny tough of aged bronze is just barely noticeable, but so nice! Replaced all my bedroom/bathroom doors with these.

You can have both hands full of heavy grocery bags and still apply downward pressure to open the door. My arthritic hands were fixed surgically; but if I have more problems, these would still be easier than turning a knob. Ive put them on bedroom, bath, exterior, and cellar doors. I like the muted look of this particular finish.

I like the lock style and look. It is the feel that I have a problem with. There is slack on the inner handle and it takes an extra inch or more just to start to turn the bolt. We have to turn the handle a full 90 degrees to open from the inside. Outside handle is attached to the bolt action so there is no play. Also, the lock is kind of hard to push while turning; I like to lock and unlock as quietly as possible and it is very hard with this lock. Otherwise the lock performs as required and looks good.

The last time I tried to swap out a door knob it didn’t go well. This time was great. I bought the chrome finish flair levers to match other doors in the hallway. One of the handles I needed to reverse and that was simpler than I expected. I also appreciated there were different faceplate options and I installed one before switching to another that worked better. The directions could have been a little clearer but it worked out well.

I only needed the outside the door handle and this was perfect. Price was right and easy to install.
