Greater than one weekReceived the handles today and was disappointed by the size of the handle which barely crosses the width of my hand. This handle is designed for light doors. So don’t expect a beefy solid feel out of the set. Otherwise the quality of the finish is good but the mechanism is average and all parts are cadmium / zinc plated. This could become a problem for bathrooms and other damp places. In any case the classic feel and good surface finish makes up for the other shortcoming. If u don’t mind the small handle that is...

Greater than one weekIn doing a huge renovation project for a client, one of the things that they wanted was to have layers of paint and varnish stripped away from their turn-of-the-century 4-panel door. After the restoration, they needed an appropriate locket to replace their 1950s chrome knob. I chose this locket for its rustic and elegant look. It installed easily and really looks great.... like it has been there always.

> 3 dayI was thrilled to get this dummy lever for my foyer closet. I bought the matching left hand one as well. The finish is a gorgeous matte edged with copper. However, the shallow screw provided is not sufficient unless you have a solid core wood door. It is not long enough to grab the wood and the weight of these pulls (they are a substantial and weighty) will make the situation worse. If you have hollow core bi-folds (standard builder stock), the handle over time will loosen and fall off the door. My husband has fixed all our current polished brass handles by buying longer screws and using a washer on the back of the door. They hold great now. I called Schlage and they have no longer screws to use with these levers. So now we will have to buy standard screws and touch up the heads with matte black paint. What a hassle. I took off 2 stars for this problem since the screws are woefully inadequate.

> 3 dayI like the lock style and look. It is the feel that I have a problem with. There is slack on the inner handle and it takes an extra inch or more just to start to turn the bolt. We have to turn the handle a full 90 degrees to open from the inside. Outside handle is attached to the bolt action so there is no play. Also, the lock is kind of hard to push while turning; I like to lock and unlock as quietly as possible and it is very hard with this lock. Otherwise the lock performs as required and looks good.

> 3 dayThese take less than 10 minutes to install and their color pattern has just enough bronze showing through. I replaced all the knobs in my house.

> 3 dayI just installed this on my bathroom door and it was easy! It looks so great Ive just ordered 4 more. I would have appreciated directions that included more description, instead of being IKEA-style. But I figured it out!

> 3 dayHad previous entry lock for 18 years finally wore out. Door gets a lot of use. This was direct replacement, but finish was off from original satin nickel - looked more of a brushed chrome.

> 3 dayI have purchased many Door Knobs and Dead Bolts here in Florida, and SCHLAGE is the only Brand that will stand up to the Hot Humid conditions here in Florida, In Fact I have replaced all the Kwikset (JUNK) exterior and interior Locks and Knobs because they Tarnished so badly they were and Embarrassment, including the Exterior ones they replaced under warranty, this is after making me Jump through one Hoop after another to get them replaced under Warranty.

06-04-2025Now our guests can have some privacy! It took me awhile to notice that my condos builders had failed to install a door handle with a lock on our half bath. Who wants a bathroom door without a lock?! I was worried that Id have a hard time matching a replacement to the other levers in the same hall. Luckily, they were all Schlage, and I found the same design in the satin chrome finish. The product that arrived appears to be genuine Schlage. My boyfriend was able to replace the original handle without much trouble, and all the existing holes lined up just fine.
