These latches are awesome! Just a couple things. The instructions are garbage, but if youre even the smallest bit mechanically inclined, youll be fine. Youll need a 13mm and 10 mm socket and the provided Allen wrenches. I wish they would have provided washers for the unit that attaches to the hood, but I just used blue lock tight and the original nuts/washer. If your latch ends up making contact with the hood when its actually latched, adjusting the unit that attaches to the hood is the easiest fix. It has quite a bit of play before you tighten it down. Other than that, these look great, are extremely sturdy, and overall I am very pleased.

On a 2008 Jeep Wrangler: Replaced the worn factory latches that were cracking/loose and causing bad hood flutter on the highway. These latches look great, feel sturdy and close securely. Very pleased with the purchase. While the videos I watched were helpful, they all had some omissions. I am not a mechanic but am OK with DIY stuff. The bottom latch assemblies are the harder to remove and then install. The 1/2 or 13mm bolts (almost interchangeable) were impossible to reach with my ratchet wrench...until I passed the wrench up from under the car. The passenger side was easier than the driver side. Installing the new lower assembly required the same technique but, on the drivers side I had to detach the front grill to access the bolt with the wrench. Detaching the front grill is not difficult, there are 5 or 6 pins that are easy to remove and the grill easily pulls forward. You do need to be careful bolting on the new lower assembly- I used a little insect adhesive on my finger tips to keep from losing the new bolt while I hand tightened it on. The assembly that attaches to the hood is easy. The whole process took an hour.

Purchased these awesome Sparta Latches a few weeks ago and it was a breeze to install, best part was the double bolt fit I only found available from this seller and conveniently on Prime--- Same Day Delivery! I was in a bind to get these latches repaired as I am in process of selling my 2011 Jeep 2D Wrangler ! I was Driving down a 2 Lane highway one day and passed a 18 wheeler about 65 mph, the gust literally blew the stock latch right off, it was 10 years old definitely a little worn out. Sounded like a gunshot through the window and scared the living daylight out of me, so thankful these replacements worked out. I am a 35 year old woman with a socket wrench kit I got at 18 years old, I was able to figure this out and fit my hands behind the grill and corner fender which helped to arrange unassembled the lower original bolts and washer and put on the new ones. Note you have to take apart the actual new bottom clip to tighten on but its a simple instruction and video helped on the page ! Good luck, I love the look of these should have purchased sooner!

Replaced the cheap rubber OEM hood latches with these, no more hood jump. Did the replacement while we replaced the headlights, much easier that way.

I loved the look of these latches for the price. However, one of the screws that holds the bushing in place came loose, and with it the latch on that side. (Hood flutter). If I could just replace the hex socket screw I would be a happy camper. Next time I will use Loctite. IF not for this nuisance, this would be a 5/5 easily.

Pay attention to the seals on is for JK and one is for JL
