Overall a pretty good corded stick vacuum, it works incredibly well. Pros: + Self Cleaning Brushroll works pretty well. Household full of girls with hair everywhere, dogs, and its significantly less clog than my other vacuums. + Simple On/Off switch, Simple Hardwood/Carpet switch. Why do others overcomplicate this? + Great suction and overall a straightforward solid corded stick vac Cons: - Not a huge bin, probably middle of the road size - Cords suck - Doesnt include a holder Overall its a great vacuum, but there are tons of options out there. The maroon color is so 1990s, and when compared to the modern industrial design of others, its lacking. Where it lacks in design, it makes up for in function and simplicity. Its a straightforward workhorse and for that reason it wins. I think this deserves consideration, but only if it fits your specific needs.

i was really surprised by how well this shark vacuum works. the only other experience Ive had with a stick vac was definitely not positive. i guess things have come along way since then. you can actually replace a cannister vacuum with this, something that shocked me. and the brushless design is a freaking miracle when you have pets or little girls whose hair is constantly ending up wrapped around the vacuum beater bar. Im thoroughly impressed with the fact that it also doubles as a handheld vacuum for cleaning out the snack crumbs from the aforementioned little girls. its also great for getting in those hard to reach crevices between the cushions on the couch. in fact the only issues i have are that the dust cannister is way too small and needs to be dumped frequently and the cord needs to be longer. but weighing these two tiny flaws against the outstanding features its a no brainer, buy this. its so light and easy to use that vacuuming is a breeze, now if only shark made a babysitter id be in heaven.

Got it today. Immediately used it on some areas that were in need and was delighted to find it powerful and efficient. It definitely does its job and Im happy with my purchase. One thing I really like and didnt expect is that the dust cup has two sections, items get separated between the small particles and the big chunks so if you vacuum up a Lego or a coin or something it can easily be saved without having to dig in dirt. However here are some things to consider with this vaccum. 1. Its heavy. I found myself getting tired of holding it up by itself without the floor extension if I was cleaning for an extended time. Its one of the more powerful vacuums and I guess this is the tradeoff there. This makes it quite top heavy and impossible to store without taking it apart. With the floor extension its fine, no worse than a standard size vacuum. 2. It is really tall when fully assembled. Im 52 and the full assembly goes up almost to my shoulder. This makes it kind of awkward to maneuver at times, I wish it was maybe 10 inches shorter. 3. The dust cup opens kind of weird and it can be messy if theres a lot of hair in there. Basically since it opens with the part that filters the dust as the lid, its easy for dust to escape everywhere. I shared a picture to demonstrate. 4. When the vaccum needs to detach from the stick bit, I keep assuming the part with the detaching button comes off with the vacuum but it is actually part of the stick. I thought it was stuck at first but I was just pulling it apart wrong. Once I get used to it, it will be fine. It doesnt affect overall satisfaction for me, but it feels like a minor design flaw the creators might want to know about. 5. There are 3 attachments, but only 2 places to store attachments. I feel like its going to be really easy to lose the third attachment when it has to live by itself and the rest of the vaccum gets to live together. Its also going to be really easy for me to forget about and neglect that third attachment. I spent some time debating which I would least mind losing or forgetting about.

While in general the unit has adequate suction, it heats up so quickly within five or six minutes of use. And its LOUD. Super loud, where I almost consider putting in ear plugs to use this vacuum, which I have never wanted to do while vacuuming before. The one good thing is that the brush roll doesnt get clogged with hair and it is easy to move around. Weve had great luck with other Shark products, but this one has not been the best so far in the month or so we have owned.

THIS VACUUM IS VERY LIGHT WEIGHT AND IS VERY EASY TO MANUEVER HOWEVER, IT IS VERY TOP HEAVY. TO KEEP IT STANDING STRAIGHT UP, YOU HAVE TO LEAN IT AGAINST THE WALL OR SOMETHING TO SUPPORT IT FROM FALLING OVER. I ALSO DO NOT CARE FOR HOW THE EXTRA ATTACHMENTS ARE STORED ON THE MAIN UNIT. WHEN TRYING TO USE THEM, THE CLIP THAT HOLDS THEM IS NOT VERY SECURE AND THEREFORE SCRATCHES THE VACUUM. ON THE PLUS SIDE, IT DOES PICK UP PET HAIR EXTREMELY WELL!!

havent vacuumed my room for years because my sister didnt want me to break hers with my shedding hair. so i finally got one that claims to be able to suck up hair. Seemed too good to be true but Shark actually posted pictures of how their technology works with their fins that dont wrap hair. OMG it sucks up all the long hair. If hair gets wrapped, just keep using it. Eventually, the strands will get broken by the suction and pulled to the middle, and then sucked into the dust cup. It really is self-cleansing. A+++++

The vacuum cleaner works GREAT, however, after having it and using it for less than a month, the swivel part is broken and since my return window closed I am unable to return it. Amazon was willing to make an exception for me to return it and receive a refund MINUS a restocking fee of $52.00. They are not sure if there is a warranty for the vacuum cleaner but I am being inconvenienced by now having to box it up (I threw the box away already), having to bring it to a UPS store and to top that off get a $52.00 deduction. You may be better off ordering directly from Shark because you will be guaranteed any missing or broken parts. I will send attach a picture of the broken piece later.

I had a Eureka Flash vacuum. I needed a vacuum that actually sucks up dog hair and dirt. This one does just that. I have owned Dyson vacuums, The Shark is better and less expensive. It picks it up and sucks it in. Easy to use and easy dumping the contents. Im impressed. I like the corded version because I can do the whole house in one session. And the dog hair doesnt wind around the base roller. The Best. Buy it.

I had a house cleaning service and Shark was my vacuum of choice; I bought one every year. This was from 2014-2021. This is not a vacuum for a dirty house, but may work well to upkeep a clean house. I couldnt get the roller, pethair, brush attachment to work ( inadequate suction?). Returned it as I have a large, hair dog. Good luck! Michele S.
