Sigma 30mm F1.4 Contemporary DC DN Lens for Sony E

This is my go to lens these days for my Sony A6500. It focuses fast and is always tack sharp. It produces excellent images, free of distortion.

The lens excellent. Especially when doing portrait photography or even car photography. Highly recommend this lens for even a beginner lens choice.

So sharp so fast. Best for portraits in this budget It is not the best for astrophotography because It is not wide enough. But Im pretty happy with my shot.

Auch mit der aktuellen Firmware kommt die 30mm gerade im Bereich Autofokus zB der 16mm nicht hinterher. Beim Filmen kriegt man das auch deutlich mit, da der AF ständig am Einstellen ist, was bei meiner 16mm deutlich ruhiger läuft.

I use this lens on my Nex 7 as the kit zoom simply isnt up to to task. Its quite sharp but it really slows the start up/wake up speed, which has made me miss several shots. It also has an annoying rattling of elements (?) when powered off which really makes me wonder about the longevity. My first one died within a week and while its replacement is now over a month old I dont trust it enough have it be my main lens for an upcoming trip so Ive ordered the Zeiss 24mm.

This lens is small, sharp, and cheap, but its either going to be right or wrong for your needs. Either youll think its great, or it will sit on the shelf.

I bought this lens on a whim for my Sony A6000, looking to upgrade from the kit lens, and it hasnt left the body since. 30mm is the perfect focal length on this camera (equivalent to about a 45mm focal length with crop factor taken into account). Purchase immediately if you are looking for a fast, good, cheap prime for your Sony A6000.

Still in the testing phase. So far the lense performs as advertised. I recommend them for the nex3. Sigma has done a good job. Would rate it a five, but still testing them.
