Sigma 30mm F1.4 Contemporary DC DN Lens for Sony E

> 3 dayI decided to upgrade from my old camera to a Sony A6600 and wanted a quality prime lens that didnt break the bank. I had already purchased the Sigma 56mm but I also use my camera for video conferencing and the focal length of the 56mm was too close for the distance I sit from my camera when conferencing. So I bought this 30mm Sigma. This lens looks beautiful! I will be taking it out for real world pics soon and I couldnt be happier. In video mode it tends to seek if I sit still too long with a static background, but I think I can stop that with some setting changes in the camera itself. The quality to price ratio is off the charts IMO I recommend this lens for any prosumer/vlogging use.

> 3 dayGreat lens for the price! Maybe not the sharpest ever and have some chromatic aberration, but bright and have a beautiful smooth bokeh. Here are some sample photos from the first day I used. (sony a6000)

> 3 dayI really wanted to love this Lens and I had really high hopes for it. I recently moved from my Canon 5DMK3 with some nice L glass to Sony mirrorless because my job changed from event photography to a more active and adventure full style. I picked up a Sony A6300, and a Zeiss 12mm, and 55mm, and thought I would take a chance with the Sigma 30mm 1.4. I Loved my old Sigma 35mm 1.4 ART with my Canon, and I was hoping that this would be similar. First impressions were that it was ok, but the more I used it on a day to day basis the more I started to dislike it, and after two months I deiced to return it. I dont understand all the five star reviews, perhaps I am spoiled with excellent glass and am a pixel peeper. The DXOmark says it is sharp, and it is, but there is so much more than sharpness to a lens. The 30mm 1.4 is very sharp especially at close to medium distances, but as I near the infinity focus the sharpness falls off. The first thing that I really dont like about this lens is the lack of color saturation, and the overly warm image tone. I find that I have to constantly adjust the tone and saturation in Lightroom, and the less post processing I have to do the better. There seems to be a bit off barrel distortion and noticeable amounts of chromatic aberration, more than I would like. I also find that this lens focus hunts quite a lot in low light scenarios where my Zeiss lenses have no issues focusing all. The bokeh on the 55mm 1.8 Zeiss lens is just so much nicer than the Sigma at even 1.4, I just cant see how I would ever use this Sigma when I have the Zeiss 55mm. Perhaps I am being to tough on this lens given the price, but I was really hoping that it would replace my old Sigma 35mm 1.4 ART. Unfortunately, as a professional, while certainly a better lens than the kit lens, I find this lens underwhelming. I will be replacing it with the Sony Zeiss 24mm 1.8

> 3 dayTengo este objetivo y junto al Sigma 16mm F1.4 creo que es la mejor combinación posible para la Sony A6XXX.

Greater than one weekMounted on my Nex6. The focus is much faster. Many prefer the Sony 35F18. I have noth and I found this is faster and better.

> 3 dayAfter reviewing some footage, I could see a small dark circle. It has to be internal because the lens outside looks fine. Unfortunate, beware and review your purchase after opening carefully!
