> 3 dayI have been using the meross plugs for several years. In our new home we have installed the Smart Dimmer Switch in six locations and they work great. The price is extremely competitive to a just a dimmer from your local big box store, but now we have all the added features of a WiFi smart switch. Meross is a trusted brand with great customer service if you have any questions on the DIY, I found the instructions provided through the app to be right on track for an easy DIY install. Recommend when responding to firmware updates to complete each one individually instead of update all.

> 3 dayI have installed several Meross switch products with HomeKit compatibility, and am overall happier with these switches than others that I have tried (mainly from Lutron and Leviton). Given the overall favorable reviews, I thought I would identify several issues that buyers should be aware of before moving forward. I like the Meross products, so I hope they expand and improve their product line. First, Meross provides the wrong size/thread screws for mounting their switches to US junction boxes. They should be 6-32 machine screws but they are not. OK, no big deal, so I used the screws that are already on my switches. Well, those have round (instead of flat) heads. They bulge out just enough that it is essentially impossible to get the snap-on switch plate attached. There are reviews on this or other Meross switches that complain of the same problem with the covers, but they dont identify that this is the problem. Second, the leads are permanently attached to the switch box. I would much prefer screw or push-in terminals. Every Meross switch has at least four leads, which increases the number of ends in a junction box. I am certainly not an expert on the National Electric Code, but I do know that there are limits of how many wires can be in a junction box with a given volume. Two-gang switch boxes become very, very crowded when replacing both switches with smart switches, especially when there are other wires traveling through the same box. Third, the switch housings are very bulky. This is true of other smart switches as well. I ran into a problem where a two-gang junction box has conduit coming in from the side. The switch is so wide that it hits the side conduit fitting and could not be inserted. My solution was to file down a small part of the plastic housing on the switch so that it could fit. (I did not file all the way through, which is how thick the plastic housing is. Of course this means that it is a durable housing.) Fourth, where we live, conduit and grounded junction boxes are required. The Meross switches should be grounded at the plastic tabs so that we dont have to bother with the ground wire. Unfortunately, they are not. Finally, if you want to adjust the minimum dimming level of a dimmer switch, or check for firmware updates, you MUST sign up for a Meross account, which I dont like. The Leviton switches that we have do not require this. Minimum dimming levels and firmware updates can be done through the Decora Smart Home app without needing to set up an account.

> 3 dayOverall I like the switch. It functions as I expected which is to control the lights with my amazon echo and my smart phone The install wasn’t hard except I needed to rewire in a neutral wire. I was lucky to have easy access to do it. The instructions that come in the box provided no useful installation details . The installation instructions were on the Meross app when adding the device. That is great but that was after I had figured out how to install it and using my general knowledge of wiring. The faceplate doesn’t fit tightly because it snaps on versus a plate that screws on. Adding the device on the app was easy. It only takes a few minutes to find it and getting it to work with the app and Alexa. Also you can set the minimum brightness on the dimmer from the app. But I wish you could do the maximum too. While directly using the buttons on the switch it is quick to response to the lights turning on and dimming the lights. When turning the lights off there is a slight delay by a few seconds. I don’t have this issue with my other Meross products. The app and my echo respond quickly and are simple to use. However there is still a delay when turning it off. I can control the dimmer with the app and my voice. However I need to figure out a way to dim it faster than saying “Alexa turn down the lights” multiple times. Overall I like the product and would recommend it. ***Make sure you have the neutral line. Also. I wish it came in brown or black ascents. Adding another comment: the switch has no memory of the last setting. If the switch was set to the lowest setting and turned off the next time it will turn on at the brightest setting.

Greater than one weekI have seen other 3 way kits but none that provide dimming function on both the switches. Works great with all the smart home solutions out there. It took a while to get it working but that was because my home wiring was not what I expected it to be. You have to install these exactly as described or else it wont work.

> 3 dayI have slowly been adding more and more Meross products to our smart home starting with their garage door opener and now all sorts of bulbs, plugs and extension cables and I have to say, they are all great. The switch particularly is sleek and stylish. It fit perfectly in the old switch plate and does not look out of place like I was afraid it might. We primarily control it via voice through Alexa as kids use to to go up and down stairs. The switch is right under the hand railing making it hard to reach so I am glad we were able to automate it. I set it up on homekit as well and it works great from my iphone as well. Very happy with the purchase.

Greater than one weekIm a fan of Meross products. I own their smart garage opener, smart ambient light, smart power strip, a few single way and three way switches, and now the three way dimmer. The products are easy to install and extremely responsive with smart home controllers and their apps. Theres is minimal to zero lag in their response to smart-speaker and app-control as well as from the physical switch. This is a great selling point as (from the posted pictures) you can see I also have a Leviton 3-way switch installed and that thing is a pain to use! On/off is ok, but trying to set a dimness level is nearly impossible due to the lag between the two switches (I believe that switch also required two neutrals but only one traveler). The Meross switch has 25% increments for dimming up/down and can be continuously dimmed by holding the buttons or in the app. Its simple to use and install (neutral on the non-load side plus two travelers - the single pole switch is even easier since you can use a dumb switch on the other side and the wiring is even more straight forward). Be sure to check the wiring guides to make sure you have the have a neutral on the non-load side since there is no way around that. The remote switch doesnt display the dimness level so be aware of that. Wiring is via nuts which is generally easier than screw-in but gets challenging when you cram a box with multiple smart switches like I do.

> 3 dayThis is the third Meross HomeKit light switch weve installed now. Over the course of 6 months or so weve had no hiccups with any of them. The more lights we put on HomeKit the cooler the scenes can be. We wanted the recessed lights in the kitchen to be just barely on while watching a movie so that people could grab snacks without flipping on lights. So we put the recessed lights on our new 3 way dimmer switch and set up a HomeKit scene for movie nights to turn them to 1%. Even at 1% there is no flicker. We also added a scene for washing dishes which turns the recessed lights up to full brightness so we can see that everything is getting clean. As far as insights about the switches themselves, the buttons have a nice click to them. They are a very bright white. The switch plates in the photos are your standard Leviton white plastic plates. The Meross switches definitely stand out a bit, but the photos exaggerate the difference slightly. The instructions Meross provides for installation are always great. I did myself a favor this time and bought a voltage detector to help identify wires. Its a worthwhile investment in convenience and safety if youre going to be replacing switches.

Greater than one weekThese 3-way dimmers with HomeKit support were the final piece to my HomeKit lighting puzzle! With these installed, now all of the lights in my house dim from 1% to 100%, all through the Meross app, and Apple’s native Home app. Installation couldn’t have been easier (you can do it through the Meross app and/or Home app - your choice!), and you won’t find a better price for HomeKit light switches. Oh, and there’s no hub required!
