This is definitely worth the money. I have been using plastic scoops and keep breaking them one after another. This will no longer be a problem. This scoop is huge and very sturdy. I cant believe the size of it and how well its constructed. I almost bought a metal one in a store for more than this one cost and I am glad I didnt because this is so well made it will last forever!

Updated: Ive been using this scoop for a couple months now, and I wanted to update my review with one issue that was not apparent to me at first: The slotted basket is joined to the handle at a bad (i.e. non-ergonomic) angle. What happens is that when you go to collect the poop and then lift the scoop, you have to dip the handle very far downward, sometimes even into the litter itself. Basically, the angle is all wrong. This makes it a lot harder to scoop the litter -- both annoying, and stressful on the wrist and forearm (especially since the metal scoop is itself so heavy). This is actually a big deal, which is why Im lowering my rating to 3-stars from 5-stars. Still, a metal scoop is better than all the plastic ones Ive used, all of which have eventually broken. Original review: There are only two minor issues I have with this scoop, and neither takes away from giving it 5-stars: 1. It is quite heavy. I will get used to it, but my forearm definitely feels it. 2. The hole at the end of the handle is so small that a standard #6 drywall screw cannot fit through to hang it. So, I had to get a little screw hook that would fit. Now, on to the good stuff: This scoop just works, and is incredibly beefy construction. The soft handle is vey comfortable. Another positive is that the leading edge of the scoop is *flat*, and doesnt have any vertical teeth -- some other scoops have a busier design, and that makes them much more likely to trap sticky litter/poop, and much harder to then clean the scoop when needed. The simple design/construction of this scoop keeps it very clean, and when its finally necessary to clean the scoop itself, thats very easy to do.

Love it. Cat box litter scoop.

It makes scooping the litter box a breeze compared to scooping with a smaller plastic scoop. It’s so big and sturdy and gets right in there to get the job done. I like it so much better than my old scoop. I like that the straining holes are at a slant too. I don’t know why, but it seems to help it sift better.

If you use certain brands of clay cat litter they will sometimes stick to the sides- and I have broken or bent several scoops in the past in this manner. It was time to replace some trust metal scoopers- due to this bending over time and Im thrilled with this purchase. These mama-jamas are sturdy as all heck and tackle any clump my cat can make- shes a prolific urinator- so makes plenty of sticky messes to clean daily. The holes are a little large- so if you have any little bits that break off they can fall through- I just use the edge lip to carefully pick them and dispose. I will continue to purchase this scooper- if it ever has need to be replaced. I can see it lasting a really long time- as it feels really durable.

Ive been using this scoop for several years, and have also bought it for other people. Its so much better than a plastic scoop. This thing basically doesnt wear out, it has a nice heft, the handle is comfortable, and the size is ideal for getting a good scoop. The size and placement of the holes is very effective at separating out the unclumped litter from the clumped. Its easy to clean. Its affordable. No complaints. 10/10.

I should have gotten this one in the first place!! Never again will I buy the cheap plastic cant clean always breaking scoops...… The metal one holds up to even the heaviest of waste!! Easy to rinse off and even easier to wash, does not hold the smell of the litter or the waste of the cat!! NO more plastic smelly scoops!! YAY!! Last scoop I will ever buy.. well for myself, I might buy some for my cat owner friends and get some and donate to the local shelters that have a lot of boxes to clean!! :)

    Greater than one week

Great all round, although could be improved by reducing the slot size so less smaller waste flows through instead of being captured and removed... Too much sifting through causes more constant odors and requires more frequent complete litter changes...!!! Too large filter leaves more smelly contaminants in box immediately after you clean box to remove the soiled smelly urine soaked litter.. bad design parameters... neither an ergonomic engineer nor practical engineer nor cat owner...! Handle, overall sturdiness excellent. Weight & balance Is really nice. Rubber handle sleeve makes it comfortable to handle. nice. Scoop does not bend, crack nor break when attempting to get at or pry moist/hardened litter from bottom walls/corners etc. Most “limiting” aspect/opinion is that the scoop’s filter “slots” are about 1/4 - 1/3 too large allowing too much soiled litter left in box when explicit purpose is to remove soiled litter, thus removing the source of odor, germs, filth which cats then track through your home... counters, chairs, beds, couches, pillows... get the concern...?! Soiled litter contaminates & reduces both efficacy and time between total litter charges... raising cost of cat ownership.. drives satisfaction and happiness down.. In truth the scoop scape could be optimized better to accommodate better access/removal of soiled clumped litter from corners... it’s better than some but not as good as others. Our box has “rounded” corners, not quarry 90 degree corners... Often when in corner as you bring scoop up the soiled litter / solids will roll/slide to edge against the wall then fall off because the scoop basket is curved too much creating a space which allows the solid to fall through... it could be engineered to be more effective... (I’m an engineer - design & functional).

Ok. When I got the poop scooper I was floored. It is big. However, it works and will continue to do so for years to come. The handle is perfect. I have arthritis in my hands and I can heft the biggest pee ball my cat has to offer. The litter actually strains out of the scoop and is clean....I mean no little bits of waste at all. This is going to save me bucks just on litter alone. The angled openings actually work. I have had cats all my life and I have never gone for a plastic scoop. It is light weight metal, and bar none, the best scooper I have had. The only downside which is also the upside is size. Who cares! It saves a ton of time not having to dig looking for the poos and puddles. Get one.

This scooper is the BEST that I have ever used, in my 60+ years of owning multiple cats. Makes the task simple and fast with an excellent grip handle for those with arthritis.
