Updated: Ive been using this scoop for a couple months now, and I wanted to update my review with one issue that was not apparent to me at first: The slotted basket is joined to the handle at a bad (i.e. non-ergonomic) angle. What happens is that when you go to collect the poop and then lift the scoop, you have to dip the handle very far downward, sometimes even into the litter itself. Basically, the angle is all wrong. This makes it a lot harder to scoop the litter -- both annoying, and stressful on the wrist and forearm (especially since the metal scoop is itself so heavy). This is actually a big deal, which is why Im lowering my rating to 3-stars from 5-stars. Still, a metal scoop is better than all the plastic ones Ive used, all of which have eventually broken. Original review: There are only two minor issues I have with this scoop, and neither takes away from giving it 5-stars: 1. It is quite heavy. I will get used to it, but my forearm definitely feels it. 2. The hole at the end of the handle is so small that a standard #6 drywall screw cannot fit through to hang it. So, I had to get a little screw hook that would fit. Now, on to the good stuff: This scoop just works, and is incredibly beefy construction. The soft handle is vey comfortable. Another positive is that the leading edge of the scoop is *flat*, and doesnt have any vertical teeth -- some other scoops have a busier design, and that makes them much more likely to trap sticky litter/poop, and much harder to then clean the scoop when needed. The simple design/construction of this scoop keeps it very clean, and when its finally necessary to clean the scoop itself, thats very easy to do.

For years I had been using a plastic scoop that was flimsy. I found this one that is sturdy and durable. I love the handle and it is comfortable to use. It appears like it will last forever. It works great and cannot think of anything I dislike about it. Only wonder why it took me so long to look for one and buy it.

I foolishly bought a litter scoop from the dollar store and quickly realized why I saw scoops in the store for much more money. I searched online to find a scoop that would hopefully sift through the litter without me being afraid of breaking the handle or flinging a scoopful of dirty litter in my face as it got stuck in a pile of you know what. This scoop was the cheapest one I saw that was metal (there was no way I was going to risk buying a plastic scoop online). I figured it was worth a try. When it arrived I was actually excited to try it out. It is very sturdy and there is no way this is going to bend like the cheap dollar store scoop. It works well and even gets the clumps of pee stuck on the bottom off with minimal effort. Sometimes the tiny poo clumps get stuck in the holes, but its better than stabbing it with the jagged edges of the other scoop and ending up with little poo nuggets stuck to the tips. I just use the bag to push them out. Id recommend everyone get rid of the plastic scoops and opt for a metal one like this.

Finally! A manly-man kitty litter scoop! Our 3 cats with 6 litter boxes, does their daddy proud! Unfortunately, mom usually is scooping the boxes. Remember the old Secret deodorant commercial? “Strong enough for a man but made for a woman.” Ladies with this beast you could convince your man that you couldn’t possibly handle such a tool and that only he could. I don’t mean to be sexist, but if it gets you out of scooping, does it really matter? Seriously, it is well built and does not flex at all even when handling large, heavy clumps. Definitely worth the extra couple dollars.

Study and well built scoop.Seems like it will last a long time. Its fairly large and some might find it a bit heavy but I like it.

Sturdy, heavy, and mine is crooked, not ergonomic just straight up crooked. It works and that’s what matters. I had a plastic scooper for six plus years. I tossed my plastic one today, hope this lasts six plus years. It definitely scoops up a whole lot more. I use Tidy Cat or Arm & Hammer, this scooped TC right up nicely. I have a big Maine Coon who can pee like an elephant, this got up a big clump in one scoop.

Love this scooper! Works great, it’s strong, and is not to heavy to hold!
