These are great plugs that provide a great deal of power usage info, are easily flashed to Tasmota (for local home automation), and are well manufactured. Have at least 8 in the house now, purchased over many years, and they keep working great.

2 out of 4, S31 WiFi Smart plugs failed to stay on after 3,weeks. Trying to contact seller for replacements.

I have been assembling my own WiFi switches with Sonoff Basics and my own extension cords for a few years now. They have been extremely reliable with only one failure in over 35 units. I was happy to see these compact plugs with a 15 amp rating finally available. They integrate seamlessly with the rest of my switches and are fully accessible in the Alexa, Google Home and eWeLink apps. Options for Inching and energy monitoring are nice when needed. Build quality is excellent with a nicely finished case and solid feel. The indicator light is not obnoxiously bright.

Flash these switches with the OpenSource Tasmota firmware to unlock the full potential of these switches. With Tasmota, there is no cloud dependency, no phoning home, no privacy risk. You can use this switch as a standalone device by accessing the Tasmota web page. Alternatively, Tasmota on this switch provides full integration with MQTT for use with HomeAssistant or OpenHab. I have five of those switches with Tasmota installed and they are bulletproof. The remote control of the switch is great, but the real-time power monitoring is just awesome. I use these switches to monitor amperage and wattage draw of 3D printers. Plus, these are great for any hardware you wish to remote switch.

My wifi auto switches your devices between 2.4GHz and 5GHz, so I cant use this switch unless I dedicate a an old phone. I put my phone on the 2.4GHz band to install it and it worked. However, I cant leave my phone on that band. When I switched back, I couldnt connect to the device. I have other smart devices that require 2.4GHz signal in the house but not on your phone. Bad software design.

We live in an older home that doesnt have overhead lighting in the ceiling. In stead, every room has to be lit with lamps and it was such a pain to turn everything on an off when you entered a room. So, we decided smart plugs and they have been a game changer. Very easy to set up with the eWeLink app and then integrate with the Alexa app. We group the switches together in each room and then set up the on/off schedules and routines in the Alexa app, rather than eWeLink, but you can do it either way. Lots of options. So much easier to just say Alexa, turn on the living room than switching on three lamps! Love these.

Flashed Tasmota, and calibrated power use. They are working great, except I found out my deep freeze uses a lot more power than I thought it did.
