> 3 dayGot this as a replacement for current mailbox that I have have 20+ years. It was like night and day as far as the quality of this one. It is very cheaply made and plastic was thin in spots. The pre drilled holes all had flashing on the inside and around each area. Could not even place the step 2 logo decal over the hole due to the hole being deformed and protruding out so far that the decal would not stay in place because it would not lay flat. The plastic was so warped on top of the base legthat it took two people to try to force the top of the mail box on to the connecting sliding grooves which were not even at all. Assembly was tedious. Next time i will just go to my local hardware store to see the product in person to judge if it is a quality product before buying. Lesson learned. Not even worth half of what I paid for it. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! THIS HAS TO BE A GENERIC KNOCK OFF! BUYER BEWARE!!! CAN NOT BE THE SAME MAKE/MODEL of the original step 2 brand.

> 3 day100% better than my old mailbox, but wish the pole covers fit better and had a more finished look. Still for the price, I would buy again. I took the existing 4x4 pole and cut it down to the right height, and installed it in 15-20 minutes. I painted areas where the bolts were a bit too noticeable, and the gaps where the wood showed through the gaps of the plastic cover.

Greater than one weekI wanted a different mailbox and this was it! Love the color and the sturdiness. I can get my mail from the back and not have to go in the street. I highly recommend

> 3 dayI would give it more stars if actually came with everything it claims. BOTH magnets are missing, so the doors dont close.

> 3 dayThis review is written for people who have mailboxes on a state road with winter plows constantly knocking them down. This is the only mailbox that’s practical. I’ve learned not to nail the top piece into the post so when the plow drives into it as they always do the toppiece usually flies off but I can later pick up the pieces and reasseble. The doors, back paper flap all come apart but don’t break. This mailbox is my fourth replacement and my only disappointment is that the post is open so it has to be nailed. My former Step2 mailboxes were a complete sleeve that just slid over the post. And, the companies installation picture shows two people attaching the pieces—that’s correct. It’s a bit more difficult to put togethers solo. But in the end, it’s a great mailbox —that the state snowplowers keep the company in business.

> 3 dayI had backed into my previous regular plastic mailbox several years ago & broke the door off & cracked the side closest to my driveway so it was jagged each time I reached in to retrieve my mail. Finally decided to replace it. My son-in-law was kind enough to do the job of removing the old one by cutting the old post down a bit & installing this one over the old post. He had no problem as some of the other reviews mentioned. I love my new mailbox...its so nice compared to my old broken one...its spruce green...my favorite color & Im sure the mailman is loving it. My mail is now secure...not falling out onto the ground (which happened periodically) & more importantly...its DRY! We get a lot of snow in up-state NY. The door is magnetic...it also has a pocket below for your newspaper which would make it handy for me except my guy drives up my driveway & places my paper right on my doorstep! You can also retrieve the contents from the back of the box as well. I made a great decision choosing to make this purchase!
