If I could do it again, I’d get the order final Surefire “Taclite”. The one handed ergonomics on the flashlight are not great. It takes me some fumbling with both hands to be able to employ it n the mode is hat I wish to. It takes a lot of screwing in order to be able to switch it to continuous. There’s little room for error as far as the push button string goes. Meaning that if it is not screwed in just right, the push button setting won’t work. This is NOT my experience with other “tac lights” from surefire. It is lightweight and durable seeming but it’s also plastic/ polymer/ or whatever”space age”/ state of the art material that they are advertising it as. I’d imagine one can find a small, high lumen, “tactical Handheld light” at Walgreens/ CVS for about $20 bucks.

My old one, just like this one, did not have a push-push switch, nor dual-brightness. What an improvement, I love them! Button is a little hard to press to the stay-on point though (1/2 pt. off for this). Another half-point off because there is no way to set it down pointing upward, and on its side it tends to roll. But if you are just looking for a flashlight strictly for in your hand, then look no further. Use low light for long battery life, even high is good life too. End gets HOT on high after several minutes (typical).

Gave one as a gift with 12 batteries to each of my sons. One son called to say said thank you after the power went out and he used two of the batteries up. Best flash light he has ever used.

Awesome flashlight. I have the older model and then acquired a newer one to mount on a new firearm. WOW there is definitely a difference, the new light is MUCH brighter. These are light but very durable. A standard 1 inch flashlight mount works with these. For a firearm you probably want the tactical switch, this allows momentary contact (light press with your thumb, no click) or full contact (click with thumb) for full-on.

I bought the flashlight as I wanted something where it was easy to replace the batteries without having to wait for them to charge. What I got was a very well built flashlight but if you dont buy the batteries cr123a batteries in bulk they are expensive. If it wasnt for the battery cost I would still be using the flashlight.

I use this flashlight on my bicycle as a riding light. I can see the glow of the light on the various street traffic signs as I ride home at night in the city. The signs up to 1.5 blocks show the glow of the light which is impressive to me. I also take it out to my farm sometimes and use it to look for varmints that might be lurking around trying to steal a chicken or a pig. The light shows off the glow of the deer eyes and they are usually about 400 feet away. It can be kind of eerie looking at those glowing eyes.

This is a serious flashlight. I got this after my 5.11 one stopped working. The high setting on this thing is blinding. Its VERY bright. The low setting could be a little bit brighter though, as its very dim but good enough. The finish on it is very rugged, and the light itself is small but hefty. I wanted a USA made flashlight because Im tired of the cheap crap out there. Grow a pair and dish out a little more , and help an American company make it.
