I am a flashlight freak. I have dozens of all types from many manufactures. SureFire has become my favorite, my go to brand. Streamlight is second. This product is my seventh like it. I use them in my vehicles, my motorhome, my boat and on my AR platform rifles. I have NEVER had a problem. The only thing I have concerns about is the newer lights are some sort of plastic. My older versions are aluminum. Time will tell.

If you need a good flashlight, you buy a SureFire. If battery life is a concern, then you buy a SureFire and extra batteries. This is a compact unit and very multi-purpose. I bought the yellow one because my other good flashlights kept getting borrowed or going missing. Easy to spot when its yellow.

I had a tough time deciding between the G2X LE and the G2x Tactical. The LE version turns on emitting 600 lumens and can switch to 15 lumens to extend battery life. The Tactical version turns on emitting 600 lumens and thats it. That makes the Tactical version more reliable when seconds count. That being said, I bought the LE because I can access the same high light mode the first time, every time while still having an admin mode helping to preserve my night vision. I like this set up a lot but can understand the argument for the Tactical version. I find the reach to be sufficient, the beam to have a nice bright center with an excellent diffuse light surrounding that enabling peripheral vision. The light does have a slightly green tint to it, but I dont care. The light is light and reliable and USA designed, built and guaranteed - thats pretty dang good in my book. This is the one I have on my belt because it checks off all of my boxes. PS - The third G2X option is the Pro. This light turns on in the 15 lumen setting and can be bumped up to the 600 lumen setting with a quick half press of the tail switch. This is a great option if this is more of a survival light or a just in case light for you because it will help to extend your battery life. This was not an option for me because I was looking for a tactical light and need the maximum brightness right off the bat. PPS - Check out the Fenix ARB-L16-700 16340 battery (you need 2) for a rechargeable option to help save you a bundle of money on batteries. You will get a shorter runtime out of rechargeables, but you will save money over single use CR123As.

The dual brightness levels are very useful when youre working on ultra low light conditions. Make sure to lock out your cap when transporting it though.

For $80 this light is fantastic. It is light weight, and bright as can be. I put this on my AK and had no issues seeing a man sized target from 150 yards. Easily made hits.

Surefire makes the best weapon and tactical hand held lights. You get what you pay for.

SUREFIRE quality, as is, outstanding brightness for it size, the double output is a fantastic feature, with the 15 lumen you can do most of the works, its crazy, and the 600 lumen, is the Sun in front of you. The yellow body colour is perfect for rescue and locate the flashlight anywhere.

I have another older surefire but I misplaced it somewhere in my world so I went and bought this one. Works like a Surefire should - wet, dry, muddy, or really cold. Absolutely love the feature that lets you twist the body part that puts the battery contact further away from the power button so it doesnt accidentally get turned on. Glad that it is NOT black. It can be seen in the dark in my bag or wherever. Works well with rechargeable batteries You wont regret purchasing this.

Three stars because the light is great but there are three product options available and the description does not update to reflect the option selected. All options will say: “A click-style tactical tailcap switch controls the light’s output--simply press or click to unleash all 400 lumens in momentary- or constant-on mode, an important feature for law enforcement applications where instant access to maximum output provides a tactical advantage. Return to off and press or click again within two seconds for G2X LE’s lower-output 15-lumen beam.” This is INCORRECT. Only the “Pro” (also called the “LE”) has this feature, and the current model has a 600 lumen high setting. The “Combat” version is technically the “G2ZX”, it has a narrower body to hold between the fingers for use with a handgun and only has one brightness mode and only has a momentary-on pressure tailcap and will not go into constant-on mode unless the tailcap is twisted. (Sure fire does sell a click-on tailcap that will work for this model.) The “Tactical” version has a click-on tail cap but only one brightness mode of 600 lumens. I contacted the seller about the description issue and they advised that they do not control the product description since multiple companies sell through this particular product page and so they cannot update it. High marks for customer service though, they answered a phone call after business hours and helped me through a return so I can get the version I need.
