> 3 dayAfter an extensive, thorough & exhaustive search I finally found only 1 smart plug that operates via Bluetooth & doesn’t require a constant WiFi connection - the SwitchBot Smart Plug Mini 15A. Using Bluetooth provides better reliability, unlike WiFi that can drop the connection or go out at any time. The app set up wasn’t as slick as I’d like, but it didn’t take very long to set up & add schedules (15-25 min.). Hopefully this app will not follow in the footsteps of the horrible & unreliable Avi-on app required for an older model GE Bluetooth Smart Switch (Plug-In).

> 3 dayCompany reached out to me and asked if I would consider trying to use it again after they had updated their software. Now I wouldnt know if it works or not, because they ask for more personal information than is necessary for monitoring my refrigerator. I will count this up for a loss and put it in the trash. Original review below. Bought Bluetooth model because I didnt want to use wi-fi. You cannot set it up without Wi-Fi. So I go through the hassle of setting up a Wi-Fi. It will not accept the password. My computer and phone have no issue with the wifi, but device would not accept it. Reconfigured the Wi-Fi to open network. If I still wont configure, still stating password error. After much back and forth with tech support, Im here to say I wouldnt recommend purchasing this.

Greater than one weekThese smart switches work reliably and are simple to set up. The only negatives Ive found are the 4 timer limit per switch, and the fact that the app requires an email address and account to work. The devices are also compatible with Tasmota and I believe ESP Home, so there is always the option of going that route, I suppose.

> 3 dayForget the stories of it being intrusive. It simply doesnt work and the company simply doesnt care. Two days of kids running the TV and the device shows ZERO power usage! I would say this goes beyond inaccurate. So I write to customer service their FAQ states. Two days later, I get an answer that they will pass it along to the tech team for further assistance. How many days will that be? I can answer for me... none. Its being boxed up now for return. ***Update. They wrote back finally a few days after offering to send a replacement for free. It took weeks but I got it and so far, this one works actually. I will follow up and raise it more if it is working after a week or two. They made me wait, so they can too.

> 3 dayThe plug itself is the same you can buy from other manufacturers. Energy Monitor is a cool feature albeit not comprehensive. It has immediate current and wattage and daily consumption. However, there is no way to see how much power has been drawn during the day.
