My husband, son, and I have other Osprey packs, some of which weve had for many years, so Osprey is a brand we know, trust, and love. Osprey has an awesome guarantee, their All Mighty Guarantee, and their packs are thoughtfully designed and well made. Although written by me, the following is from the perspective of my husband and son.

I had the old version of the Talon 22, which was fantastic. I had to replace it with this new version. The glaring issue is the new frame sheet is very painful on the back. I had to return it.

On the surface this pack looks like it has it all. However as a life Osprey owner and avid hiker this bag fails on so many levels. The hydration sleeve is useless for anything less than 1.0 L. Trying to use the sleeve with Ospreys own hydration bladder barely fits when empty let alone when it’s full without risking rupture. The main storage area is fairly small, bottle holder is useless and doesn’t properly hold anything. The hiking pole attachment is flimsy and it broke on first use.

Took the pack to Equidor and had many day hikes. The park worked great.

Very comfortable, I went from a small Osprey daypack to this one. Much more room.

Like the hip belt which transfers weight off shoulders and serves a hand place to store trail mix and odds and ends. Have used on several long day hikes and have found very comfortable.

Small scale version of my Osprey Esos 58. Fits very similar and comfortable. Holds my 2L reservoir on outside at back. Great idea. Has the airspace between pack and back. You can feel the difference and I keep much cooler. Had all adjustments as the 58. Also has a helmet holder attachment. Definitely a good day/overnight pack, even for bike rides. Fits well on center of back.

I’ve been using a 50L GoLite Jam for longer day hikes because it has comfortable padded waist and shoulder straps. I bought a Talon 22 ML/XL to use on days when I’m carrying smaller loads. Most daypacks have unpadded waist belts and marginally padded shoulder straps that are uncomfortable for all day hiking.

Very well thought out design. Lightweight but durable. You get what you pay for with Osprey packs

I use this pack everyday at work and carry my gopro 9 stuff in it on the weekends. Great pack and perfect size. I hope it lasts me a long time.
