> 3 dayThis little pocket style drive is about as good as these get. It is simple to use. Plug and Play. Any method for copying or loading files to a hard drive works well. I do have one little thing that bothers me but it may be software/system related. If I am copying a lot of folders that contain many files, the data transfer rate slows down. I have found tat the drive is fastest when transferring large files and very few folders.70 MB/sec avg. transfer speed. I play large 1080P video files straight from this drive without a single issue. For 2 TB of storage for such a low cost, I had to give this drive an overall 5 stars. I have dealt with Western Digital one time on a broken drive under warranty. They treat customers very well and do whatever they can to keep you happy. I phoned them, reported the issue and had a new drive within a few days.

> 3 dayIm a photographer and I bought this drive before a 6 week trip to India. I knew that Id need a backup drive and that Id be generating a lot of data (photos, video). In the end, I didnt fill it up... I barely used 1TB, but it was good that I never felt limited in my shooting by storage options. This drive, like my other WD Passports, was simple to use.... just plug it in and it appears like any other USB thumb drive would, with no external power requirements, and it didnt take up much room in my camera backpack. While connected to my Surface, it was fast enough reading and writing that editing photos was not uncomfortably slow.

> 3 dayBought it for the password protection capability, which works really well. The write speed is not consistent and slower than other external hard drives I have used before.

> 3 dayI tried other makes before being advised by a knowledgeable friend to forget about the others and just get a WD. Lo and behold. I plugged this beautiful baby into my phone which immediately recognized it (unlike the others) and asked if I wanted to configure it. I concurred and ... bingo. No instructions and computer connection needed. My only complaint is that it does not appear to have a safe means of ejecting it after use. I called WD about this and was informed that the discrepancy came about because the unit wasnt really designed for use on anything but a computer and that to safely eject I should shut off the phone before disconnecting. No biggie. Easy peasy. Its been a love affair from the time i plugged it into my SG S8 and saw that it was a match made in heaven. Its even more fun to plug them both into my laptop and start transferring and copying files from one to another. So cool.

> 3 dayI purchased this product around 5 weeks ago. Within 4 weeks it was making a beeping sound. I could hear the beep and I could hear the drive spinning but none of the files could be read by my computer. After not very much research I found thousands of people with the same issue. It appears this drive has issues with its heads whatever those are. They appear to be defective. I went though the Amazon website and requested a call to fix the issue. I was connected twice to people with very thick foreign accents that I could barely understand. The first call after wasting my time with troubleshooting I knew wouldnt work the man told me he would send me a ONE TIME COURTESY REPLACEMENT. As if it was my fault WD is selling a faulty and defective item. That person hung on up me without me getting anytime of confirmation of information about the replacement so I had to call back. The second person told me the exact same thing about the one time courtesy replacement which made me mad all over again. But he did confirm a replacement was coming and when to expect it. Since I know now this item has issues what happens if I get another defective item? I suggest not buying this particular WD product.

> 3 dayDidnt break or give problems when I formatted to EXFAT. So far its been trusting. Build quality is give or take. The shiny plastic part is easily scratched like all plastic and it definitely looks like Ive had it longer than I do.

Greater than one weekThis is a great buy for casual gamers, especially those who have just enough games but not enough space on the standard console. I use this in combination with a standard PS4. It is very easy to set up for storage and contains enough space (2TB) to keep you happily gaming (and saving) for awhile.

Greater than one weekI wanted a storage unit. No where in instructions in box or online could I find any. (just plug it into a computer). If I want to use it for backup, there were instructions. still not sure if I can use it for both. Nor is it clear if used as a backup it only backups changes since the last backup.

Greater than one weekBeing previously familiar with WD ext hard drive products, this 2TB unit I purchased was easy to setup/use right out of the box. We backup hundreds of our family photos, along w/ company and personal business files. WD is highly reliable with a very quick speed for boot up, despite it not being an SSD. I would certainly purchase again from WD.

> 3 dayJust plugged it in, ran the backup utility, and set up my backup schedule. Came back later and tested single file and folder restores, and they worked easily just as you would hope. I like it, it just ticks along in the background, keeping my data safe from a disk failure. I may buy another and do an off-site rotation once a month just for safe keeping. No cloud needed, yay!
