> 24 hourThank you so much for the product. It was packaged professionally. The material is great and it was delivered on time. I was so happy with performance as it did what it promised. I got it for the PS5 and the set up took 30 seconds or less (if you call formatting a setup :) )

> 24 hourThis has all the basics covered as far as being easy to hook up, easy to use once its hooked up, and having quite a bit of capacity as SSDs go. For purely practical purposes, it checks all the boxes that I look for. On the less purely practical side, Ill note that it looks like the design is intended to lean it toward looking like its some kind of military item, which will make it a nice thematic fit if youre thinking about gifting it to someone who especially loves shooter (especially military shooter) games. Keep in mind that an SSD is expensive, but if youre looking to use it on the go a lot, or to give it to someone whos going to be traveling, moving, or just taking the drive with them to play at friends homes a lot, an SSD has fewer moving parts than a hard drive and is much less likely to make someone suffer the grief of a drive that failed from being shaken up too much. Theyre also very very fast. The only situation where you really dont want an SSD is when spending needs to be kept to a bare minimum (and ideally you dont expect to be moving it around much).

> 24 hourThe first thing is the size. About the size of a small smart phone. With one Terabyte of memory. I still remember buying my first hard drive. 450 megabytes for 450 dollars. And much larger, you could fit about ten of these W.D Blacks into that one old HHD! This is not a super cheap drive, but for an external gaming drive, it is as fast as advertised. I use a PC. Best used with a computer that has an SSD installed already for the OS. I have an older hard drive in my gamer, which I am currently replacing with an SSD drive. However, on my other desk top, which has the SSD for the OS, the speed is amazing. I downloaded my games from Steam onto the drive. It uses USB3.0, cable comes with it. The drive is so fast, when plugged in, instantly the menu of games comes up. I mean...WOW! So from SSD to SSD, this is amazing. For older standard HHD (hard disk drive) to the SSD, you will notice a slightly slower speed. However, the difference loading games and the play is super fast. I loaded Fallout 4 and a few other games. There was not only no lag, I absolutely noticed that when using weapons, there was an immediate response that I never had happen before. Just one white light on the side says its on. I found it gets warm, warmer and can get a bit on the hot side when used a lot, I loaded and unloaded games, photos, other apps, to see performance. Overall, its an obvious speed increase. I loaded up 48gb of photos from the HHD that is used for storage on the PC to the SSD main hard drive on the same computer. It took approximately 20 minutes to transfer from an HHD to an SSD. Then I transferred the same file from the SSD drive on the computer to the W.D. Black. Less than 5 minutes. Thats a 75% increase in transfer rate. Thats excellent. I am going to use this for a lot of things, mostly games. But with the super large 1TB capacity, also will use this for storing photos, other things I need to keep secure. The W.D. Black has proven itself to me quite well. Western Digital is one of the oldest and best computer peripheral companies around. This is a superb drive. I will update after six months as far as lasting ability.

> 24 hourThe drive is kinda cool looking, like armored, and potentially could help dissipate heat. But thats where the honeymoon is over. The drive seldom achieves above 550MB/s under ideal conditions, so about 25% of its clearly-inflated published throughput. My old Crucial X8, which this was SUPPOSED to replace, gets double that speed, its actual published rating as well.

> 24 hourThe actual read/write speed of this drive has already been documented by other buyers. The speed is greatly dependent on the computer interface. It seems to be best with USB 3.2. My fastest interface is USB 3.1. Still I copied a 2,672,000 byte file to the drive in 9.24 seconds which seemed quite fast to me. Read/Write speed isnt a top parameter for me. Most drives are fast enough for me. Im just a home user.

> 24 hourAlthough this drive is marketed to gamers, it’s not just for gaming. There are many applications that can benefit from the lightening fast transfer speed of an SSD drive.

> 24 hourBought for my PS5 as I needed more room for my games. Came with a USB cord and plugged into my console and works great.
