Its one of the best AV Ive used. Norton and McAfee are garbage and slow your system terribly; Kaspersky was my choice before Webroot and I immediately recognized significant performance gains using Webroot without a loss in system security after switching from Kaspersky. Kaspersky also STILL prompts with ads even on fully paid/licensed versions.

Seems to do what its supposed to do. Bought it at a substantial discount. There are features that allow you to store things on a remote server aka cloud. I am wondering if when it is time to renew, I will be able to get a sale price again or will my remotely stored files be held for ransom if I dont pay MSRP.

when i bought my ASUS computer at BB they gave me WEBROOT to try out. Since i was having problems with Norton 360 on my ASUS that was running windows 8.1( I transferred my Norton account from my old comp. that was running win.7 were it worked fine) For my surprise WEBROOT worked really fast, better than my NORTON 360 ever did on my old comp. running win.7 the only problem is that it promises a password manager on your browser, but it never worked. it did worked on the try out, but not when i purchased the software. that is the only reason for a 4 star review. the password manager comes in handy, i had it on my Norton account. WEBROOT is.... to put it this way; so quiet, that i thought it was not working. So i tested it with a malicious software. that i use to test, this antivirus softwares. it took like 10 min to discover it and eliminate it. not bad, that is about the average that it has taken other antivirus softwares. all in all Im happy with the purchase. September 16th 2020 added some pics to the review. Happy and satisfied with webroot that I purchased it again pics show old case and new case. The cardboard one is the new one.

Delivery of the order was completed in a timely manner. I have used the program for over four years and found this latest version to be as good as the first time I used it.The scans are fast, the footprint of the program is small and doesnt gobble up a lot of disc space.Threat detection is quick and effective as is the virus removal process. The virus definitions file is in thecloud so they are always up to date. That feature is is a big plus for folks who forget to update before scanning for viruses or are not very computer oriented. My 93 year old father in law loves it.For those who want to be more technical you can customize the scan and protection settings rather than use the default settings.

I have had Norton installed for a couple years now and wanted to try something new & possibly better. After uninstalling Norton & installing WEBROOT a system scan revealed a hidden virus or Trojan that Norton never knew was there. Also, I have been getting warnings when visiting some sites that have pop-up ads that contain Trojans & blocks these from my computer. So, all in all, this blows Norton away. I just wish they would have a lifetime subscription or 3 year subscription instead of just yearly.

Installed this program today. The installation was easy. I am impressed with the security that the program offers. Significantly easier and faster than other programs I have used. So far, I am very, very pleased with the installation. I found this program while scanning Amazons website. Initially, I was reluctant to try it. Frankly, I never knew that this program existed. I would definitely recommend it.

Fantastic, but beware!!! If you have any issues at all (or even questions), do not call any number for Webroot other than that at their corporate headquarters in Colorado (303-442-3813). Other numbers you find on the internet are probably an outside, foreign support site. When you call them, they will take remote access of your computer and use information they garner for their own purposes. Nothing can be done because they are foreign companies. Forewarned is forearmed. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PROGRAM TO REMOVE ANY AND ALL OUTSIDE GARBAGE FROM YOUR COMPUTER. And their support representatives (the real ones) are really helpful and nice.

(Update Below) Wish I saw this on youtube before I bought this program. Web-Root Secure Anywhere Review (Removal & Zero-Day) by DehHaxor4evr. It was easy to install. It found about 150 problems/viruses/malware on my computer after the Iolo Mechanic Pro. (We dont use the Iolo for virus, but maintain the computer in other ways, but we ran it first and it only found 7 viruses). After we saw the review video above on Webroot. we found out about Malware-bytes. We bought it, and it arrived on same day that web root did. After web root ran the computer, Malware-bytes found almost 600 malware/virus/problems. This was right after webroot, and it was installed. We left web root on the computer, due to Malware-byte runs with other virus programs. Figure already bought it, and cant hurt to have two programs protecting the computer. But we probably wont renew it when the year runs out. Renewal time. They want $79 for first year of renewal, and $50 for 2nd year. If you contact them on their web site it states must accept Cookies a security program that wants cookies be allowed. It did allow my note be submitted w/o allowing the cookies. But why ask? We will be deleting this program, and keeping Malwarebytes, which is a much better program. Several times a day this program has been putting up Need to renew soon links on the screen. Bye Bye program. Removing soon. We changed it from 2 star to 1 star. I had sent an email to them to find out why no deal for renewal for loyal customers. Got a Reply (That I could not reply to) that said the email was a system automatic and it did not know of deals, and need to call to get a deal. This is hoping most customers will just pay the price, next it was not an email, but the program itself giving a link, then ph calls to get a deal? That is Phishing in a way to get you to call and get a hard sell. This is the first software company that does not give a proper link to a good deal for renewal in the last couple years of programs that I have updated. Malwarebytes was 1/2 price for renewal, and does everything and more than this program does, and Malwarebytes is not identified by this program as a 2nd security program.

Just got this. A big mistake. Yes, it is ostensibly easy to configure. Although with some of the parameters, its not clear what exactly youre configuring or what the potential impact of your various choices would be. How hard would a little more explanation be, for those who want it?. Huge frustration has been the browser filter extensions. Had to uninstall and reinstall both Webroot and Firefox several time before the filter extension for Firefox began to work. Weirdly and somewhat disturbingly, though, the Firefox icon was changed to a blank icon, as though Firefox keeps getting corrupted by Webroot in some way. Not sure what thats about and cant figure out a way to resolve it. Still cant get the damn filter extension for IE to work, despite the fact that IEs add-on manager says that its there and enabled. Way, way too much time wasted on this already. Ugh. After all of that time wasted, I went online and found that Webroots been struggling with the browser filter extensions for some time now. All kinds of problems. Multiple iterations of releases. And, still not resolved. While searching on the web for a solution to the browser filter extension problems, I ran across this on the Webroot website from Feb 2015: This is essentially down to the way that WSA works; it does not scan your entire drive and every file by default but rather it only scans for active files/apps, on the premise that if malware is dormant/inactive then it is not a threat...which makes absolute sense when you really think about it...but the moment that a dormant file/app starts to run/goes active WSA pounces on it, determines if good or bad and acts accordingly, i.e., allows to proceed or blocks & cleans, etc. OMG, are you kidding? So, Webroot doesnt actually find and eliminate threats already on your hard drive, but waits until theyre running and then tries to stop them??? I dont need to point out the obvious shortcomings of that approach. Would be nice to know what Webroots privacy policy is without having to dig for it. The fact that its deeply buried somewhere (Ive not been able to locate it) likely isnt a good sign. It also struck me as odd and troubling that theres no option in the settings for what info gets sent or not sent to Webroot, like with all other virus protection software Ive ever used. I can only assume the worst. Finally, upon looking more closely at the Amazon reviews which led me to buy this in the first place, its hard not to wonder whether a lot of the reviews are bogus and were written by Webroot-paid trolls. There are the tell-tale signs of this: Many reviewers did not make a verified purchase and/or wrote a simple one line review and/or have never reviewed any other product. Frustrating. Very worrisome. Will return.

Ive used Webroot for several years. It scans quickly without hogging all my computer resources. I think the value is excellent (I usually buy the 5 license package). I never renew the license because it is always less expensive to buy a new license number every year. I only have to update the license number in the software, no need to uninstall and reinstall.
