when i bought my ASUS computer at BB they gave me WEBROOT to try out. Since i was having problems with Norton 360 on my ASUS that was running windows 8.1( I transferred my Norton account from my old comp. that was running win.7 were it worked fine) For my surprise WEBROOT worked really fast, better than my NORTON 360 ever did on my old comp. running win.7 the only problem is that it promises a password manager on your browser, but it never worked. it did worked on the try out, but not when i purchased the software. that is the only reason for a 4 star review. the password manager comes in handy, i had it on my Norton account. WEBROOT is.... to put it this way; so quiet, that i thought it was not working. So i tested it with a malicious software. that i use to test, this antivirus softwares. it took like 10 min to discover it and eliminate it. not bad, that is about the average that it has taken other antivirus softwares. all in all Im happy with the purchase. September 16th 2020 added some pics to the review. Happy and satisfied with webroot that I purchased it again pics show old case and new case. The cardboard one is the new one.

Ill give 4 stars because its working fine on Windows 8, but really messed up my Apple Mac mini. It rooted in and took over so it would not allow hardly anything to work and locked it up. So I had to webchat with Apple and take it to an Apple center to have them reinstall the system since I am on Hughes Net and could not download that much info without taking days to do it myself. They took over an hour at it but were great and didnt charge me for it. The moral of it is DONT USE WEBROOT ON MACS.

Solid product, my 2nd year buying it. Buy one of these instead of renewing. Cheaper and simple restarts or extends existing service

Ive used Webroot for over 3 years. Never gotten a virus on any of my machines while using webroot. Amazon sells this version for less(almost $10) less than any of the big box stores, and also less than Webroot offered me to renew. This product scans your machine faster than any other product Ive used! However, it will block certain functions on a machine that uses Windows 10. I installed it on my new Windows 10 laptop, and Webroot conflicted with touchpad issues, and slowed down Windows 10 updates. Windows 10 supposedly has a built in virus protection. When I removed Webroot from my new laptop, the touchpad issues, and the slow update issues disappeared. Caveat. These are just my experiences. Also, this is not a download, but, product includes the disc. And a renew code. If one already has Webroot, the renew code can be entered without playing the disc. But, if one of the devices you need to install the program on, is not at your location, it is good that this product includes the disc, as you can take the disc with you to the other location. I have computers of mine at several locations. I only wish Webroot would supply support for more than 5 devices, like the other antivirus programs do You can always add a device, for more money, online at their website. But, I wish theyd sell the product, to cover all ones devices.

Have used Webroot Security for three years and have been very satisfied. It doesnt pick up malware as well as Malwarebytes software, but my previous security software suite also came in second place compared to Malwarebytes. The customer support with Webroot is excellent, in part because you are speaking with tech people in the US who can speak native English and are not reading to you from a manual.

Ive been using Webroots product for the last 10 months, and due to the fact that my laptop is still free of any issues is a testament to the effectiveness of this product and my careful web surfing. Im not a digital techy, so I cant give you the nuts and bolts of why this has been working so well. I can tell you that Webroot works so quickly and seamlessly in the background that you have to check now and then that its still engaged. Ive used Norton, McAfee, and Kaspersky over the years and found that they were either memory hogs, or run slowly robbing resources, and sometimes both. What I find frustrating is that online reviews of virus, etc., software are very unreliable, with many of them being overly complimentary while others pan the very same product. How much influence do these software manufacturers have on these sites that accept advertising? Consumer Reports is probably the most trusted source (accepting no advertising), but they didnt include this Webroot product in their last review. Another frustration is that when its time to renew, manufacturers, including this one, start sending reminders at least 60 days in advance of the end of the service period. Their offer for renewal never shows the best price available, so shopping again for the same software online is strongly recommended. I dont have any issue with the product, but the marketing schemes used by these companies is anti-consumer, especially toward their existing customers. Ever felt that way about your cable company or your cell phone provider? Do software manufacturers really want to be lumped with cable companies occupying the bottom of the list of trusted service providers?

I want to start by saying that I am in no way an expert about computers or software. I installed this yesterday on my laptop computer. About an hour after installation, I got a visual and a verbal message from a scam. A large box popped up and a womans voice said, Hello Comcast customer. You are one of two customers chosen today to win an iphone 8 (there were also three other choices) The only way to get out of it was to click OK so I had to shut the computer down to get out of it. On the Webroot package it has a list of protections including: 1.Blocks fake websites that can steal your personal information, 2. warns you of potentially dangerous sites and links before you click. I guess I find it strange that this happened an hour after Webroot was installed after never seeing anything like this before. I dont know what this means but it has diminished my faith in this product.

Webroot has caught many threats to my computers. It works automatically and can also be worked manually. Their are also some settings that users may choose from that may cover some special concerns. It is fast as it is configured. But I found one threat that it had missed by going directly to the whole operating system, C: drive, and start the app from there. It took a long time to run that way, and it only caught one threat. I plan to use it this way only twice a year. And I will renew my contract soon. UPDATE - 10/17/15: All of the above is or was true, Im jut angry with them. The CD they sent me would not accept the Product Code, the on line help is all robotic. I wasted two hours and got nowhere. Im leaving the 4-STARS posted, but Im sending the software back and changing my digital security to Norton.

Exceelent Product! I have been using Kaspersky in my computers for 4 years - and love it. Only problem I had wasI knew that there was a discrepency in my hard drive and it just wouldnt go away. I read up on many othere anti- Virus, Malware protection programs and I took the chancce at using WEBROOT. I am more than glad of the results. I used it on the computer that I had spoke of , and once I took out Kaspersky and loaded Webrrot - it founf and eliminated the problems instantly! Needless to say I am up and running - I use it on all my computers now!

Ive used more security programs in the past 15 years than I care to count. Among those that Ive used are Norton, McAfee, Comodo, Kaspersky, AVG, TrendMicro, and Panda. From an IT standpoint all the way to the end user experience, I havent used anything as good as Webroot. Webroot stood out to me because it is a cloud based product. There arent huge virus definition files to update that constantly slow down your computer. The scans are fast. Even on older systems, it can run a scan without you ever noticing a drop in performance. Its an incredibly light program, and certainly not a resource hog like other AV programs seem to always be. Ive never gotten a false positive from the program, and in the 2 years Ive been running it, I havent been infected once. My favorite thing about Webroot? Its an American company, and I love to support America. Most major AV software brands are based overseas. Give it a try - it will most likely be the last AV you ever buy.
