Functional little laptop. Great for browsing the web. No backlight on the keyboard and the screen resolution is lacking a bit

I purchased this Chromebook from Amazon in the summer of 2018 (had to use a different account so it wont show verified purchase). Its now been well over a year and I still couldnt be happier with my purchase. Its lightweight, quick, easy and fast - all the things my sluggish Dell laptop was not. I use it for writing, researching, the hundreds of home admin duties we do (banking, scheduling, emailing, etc.). Ive watched movies on it, listened to music, played audiobooks and plenty of other things Im probably forgetting. I LOVE the touch screen. It works better than my phone! No lag or jump. I rarely use the tablet function, but its nice to be able to lay the whole thing flat in some cases. For my uses, I find it very durable. Ive taken it all over Europe in just a backpack and traveled by air and car many times with it. That being said, I wouldnt feel comfortable giving it to a kid who is rough with things or a younger child. I personally would want something more rugged for kids.

I had a previous Acer chromebook from 4 years ago that I used pretty heavily, so it was time to upgrade (the only one wasnt fully functional anymore). This is quite the upgrade. The first improvement is the screen quality which was necessitated by the addition of a touch screen. It looks great and the touch screen itself is everything used expect from a tablet.

I love this comp! Super fast connection and more security! I can’t connect to my work programs though but it’s wonderful for everything else especially travel!!

I thought I had a great buy and soon found out It was not a good decision to purchase this product. It states that it holds a charge for up to 10 hrs., dont believe it, it doesnt . It never offered me a protection plan which I was searching to find so I could purchase it. Lastly the power cord is cheaply made that the connection part that connects to your pc portal fell apart. I am so disappointed with this Acer, I have purchased Acer pcs before without these many problems, Im wondering whats next. Wish I could have contacted the seller earlier and returned this. :-(

=== Updating my review: Ive had this Chromebook for 10 months, and I hate it more every day. In addition to the weird keyboard (see below), starting this week it will not stay connected the internet. My HP laptop doesnt have this problem, and both the laptop and the Chromebook are connected to the same wireless internet service. Searching the internet finds various suggestions, e.g. powerwashing, but some users say this doesnt work, so I hesitate to try it - I hate solutions that say, try this, try that, etc... I just want the darned thing to work. Also, various apps do not work correctly, for example, Google Calendar shows part of the day, but the scroll bar does not appear, so I can only see certain hours of the day. Every time I use this Chromebook, I wish I hadnt bought it.
