It works great.

The set up is a little annoying. You have to use the manufacturers app, then you have to have the Alexa app. It is straight forward enough, but seriously, we should be at the point, where I should be able to just tell Alexa to add a new device, right? And there is one more random fact, which is that the plug can only be voice activated from one of your Alexa devices. Why? Who knows. But it is cool to be able to turn on a light from the app. Very cool.

Had to download the app. Once that was done, setup was straight dory and easy. Works well. Using Google Home to control and Popotan for timer settings.

Out of 2 I bought, one stopped working after a few weeks. The other one is fine.

It always takes a minute (or 10) to fully connect but once it does, no issues. I wish this exact brand came with more outlets but for the price, I really cant complain.

I set this wifi outlet up with a lamp in my living room. It worked great for a few weeks, then one day it started rapidly turning on and off and making a clicking sound. Tried unplugging it and resetting it, but that didn’t fix it. Also tried clearing it from the app and setting up again.

I was able to connect my iPhone, however my son’s Samsung couldn’t detect the apparatus. I just changed my Wi-Fi provider and half the time my device reads that it’s offline.

We purchased separately a echo show to communicate with our children. So, since we bounced back into the Amazon Alexa universe, we decided to plunge into all the device options. Previously we used smart home light controls with Lightify. These required the use of an injector hub (my words) to send the control signal over the internet to their server and back again. And the individual bulbs were controlled with signals over the house wiring, at least that was our vague understanding of the way it worked. These seemed to always break, lose the signal, or just not work right especially after a power grid brown out. Fast forward to todays technology which uses Wi-Fi directly to the device, again the way we understand it with limited technology smarts. WOW, gotta say, it works so much better. Instant on, instant off, no lag, no configuration reset after a power grid failure. SO, its our non tech savvy opinion that these work great. Seems a little difficult to setup with some of the other brands we purchased. But the Amazon brand setup was much simpler. If your going to do a smart home, go with this generation (gen 4) and buy enough to make the experience from room to room convenient. Otherwise why bother if the technology makes life more complicated...these make bedtime and wakeup much easier. Our advise, keep the device names simple, one word. Do your own custom name and group the devices together into rooms like living, master, for living room and master bedroom as an example. Above all enjoy the convenience, no more wall switch routines especially in the dark with Grandkids toys on the floor...ouch!

These are great and easy to setup/use. I have a pair of bug zappers and hooked them up in the bedroom and kitchen. Now when I see a bug buzzing around I just tell Alexa to turn on my bug zappers Alexa shields up! and zap! you plug them in, load their app, and its pretty straightforward from there. You hold the button down for 5 or 7 seconds to reset until it blinks then turn on your phone blue tooth for the app to detect and configure for your wifi network. Then link to Alexa and setup your routines. Note Amazon sent me a pack of used ones but since I could reset them and they seem to be working fine these past weeks that I did not knock any stars off as its Amazon and not the manufacturers fault, plus I hate wasting working products just because they are used but still look new (though it wouldnt hurt for amazon to knock a few dollars off). I do recommend this product if you are looking to control power for outlet devices that remain on.
