> 3 dayI am using BenQ HT 2550a for last two years and I am fully satisfied with its performance despite being a 1080 projector. Thought of upgrading to 4K and ordered 3050. I cant believe this product is from same company who made 2550a!! Poor image quality, far less brightness, contrast ratio not even close to its predecessor (dont pay much attention to whats written in specs). Returned it on the first day and planning to keep my old 2550a for some time.

> 3 dayI absolutely loved this projector when it was new. It was an upgrade from the BenQ W1070. The picture quality was top notch, bright, and crisp. The installation was simple as it worked great with the ceiling mount I already had installed. I removed the W1070 and slipped the HT3550 right into place. The love affair is quickly coming to an end though as the pixels are dropping like flies. It started with one off to the side and I was okay with that. Then a second died, then a third, forth.... Its up to six now and its becoming unbearable especially when its a really dark scene in whatever Im watching. For the price of this item, I would expect it to last a longer than it has.

> 3 dayas a projector enthusiast (over 17 years) I can say that this is the the best projector I have ever own in my life. I use it in my home cinema room and its just breathtaking. here is my take on it. used for movies and gaming. (PC and PS5) Pros: sharp, low input lag, bright. Pros and cons of Ht3550. Pros: Sharp as a razor blade. Contrast ratio. Amazing image depth. The colors are 100 % accurate out of the box. The quiet hum of 4k chip, you cant really hear it. No light border around the image. Dynamic iris (a good thing to have but not a deal-breaker) Lens ceiling light shield. Breath-taking hdr capability. (still cant find my jaw) Cons: some say it has a high input lag but it never bothered me in games. my tests showed about 50/55MS without the dynamic iris and about 77 with dynamic iris turned on. (i game without the dynamic iris) but I dont feel it in any game I play on Ps5. 2000 lumens, works best in dark rooms. Image syncs two sides of the screen for a minute. (only at startup). purple Fringing/ chromatic aberration. its only visible up close and as soon as you gain some distance from the projector screen it goes completely away. it is known with this model and it should not bother anyone owning this projector. although rated 2000 lumens I would say its about 2500. I have another 2200 projector and HD3550 blows it out of the water. I am not playing FPS games so I have never seen input lag, dont let this issue stir you away from this amazing projector. 4k gaming on my ps5 is just stunning and frankly, sometimes unbelievable how amazing it looks. The cons are very negligible vs the pros. I dont know how Benq managed to do this in this price range but its just nothing short of amazing.

> 3 dayI decided to upgrade from my 5yr old W1070 which has never let me down. All I can say is WOW, the HT3550 is a day and night difference. Im not sure whats to come in 5 more years but Im confident BenQ will be on the top of my upgrade list...again. (the pics are in a fully lit room without any projector adjustments)

> 3 dayGreat looking projector Im in the process of building a home theater. This will be the first one Ive put together and I agonized over which projector I was going to buy for a long time. Lamp or laser? Did I need 4k? What about HDR? Was LG a better choice or Optoma? Eventually, I read a very detailed review of the upcoming BenQ HT3550 that made it sound really great. It had the specs I wanted and it was right in my price range, so I made the leap and ordered one. It took about 3 weeks to arrive but I finally got it on Friday. I got it set up fired it up to make sure it works. Everything works great, setup was very easy, and it looks absolutely stunning. The picture is really extraordinary and the colors are fantastic. Its very quiet. And since I didnt have my surround sound system fully set up, I just used the internal speakers and those even sound pretty decent. All in all, this is a fantastic value for the money and I highly recommend it.

Greater than one weekI was thinking for a while about what would happen if my one LG 4k 3D 65 TV finally went out. You cannot buy new 3D TVs anymore. And I have lots of 3D blurays. So, I finally decided to replace my Panasonic PT-AE2000U projector in dedicated theater room with this BenQ. I did not have high hopes for this projector, given the price. BTW, the Panasonic projector is still a great 1080p non-3D projector, and I highly recommend it if full HD is sufficient for you. I needed the 3D functionality, and the 4k was a bonus. Please note this is not native 4k, but 4k pixel shifting. But the picture still looks amazing! I also hesitated buying a projector that used DLP active shutter glasses, as the LG TV uses passive 3D glasses. I remember in their early days the active shutter had a lot of strobing. Seems like thats all been fixed now. And you get a lot more color coming through with the DLP active shutter glasses, which I did not realize. I bought a 4-pack of the Boblov glasses, which are fabulous, and very reasonably priced. You can find them here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C9SWQKM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I did not give this a full 5 stars because its missing some legacy inputs and regular sound output jack, I would have liked to have, as well as the horizontal lens shift mentioned in a minute. Currently the Android apps, such as YouTube, only use the projector speakers. Which, to be fair, sound quite good. I had just already wired a sound output cable above the ceiling for the old projector. Perhaps there is some converter i can buy. And there is no horizontal lens shift, which would have made mounting this pj a WHOLE lot easier. The Panasonic had both vertical and horizontal lens shift, with the pj lense in the middle. This one only has vertical shift with the pj lense near to one end. Thankfully, the mount I have installed in the ceiling has super adjustable mounting arms, so I was able to shift the whole pj to the left on the ceiling mount. Adjusting everything took a few hours, though. My biggest concerns before receiving this projector was ability to use the already installed ceiling mount and possible issues with the video source, a Zappiti mini 4k HDR player. The player worked perfectly with this projector. So, overall I very highly recommend this projector, its super bright and has an awesome 4k picture. The 3d looks very good. Some complained about the included app dongle but I had no issues. Netflix is not available with this dongle (maybe a licensing issue?), but there are 2 HDMI ports, if you wish to use a Roku stick or similar instead.
