Greater than one weekI am floored with the image put out by this thing in 4K. Even 11080p material looks great on it. HDR is just amazing when watching thru Youtube. Great value in the new 4k projector space.

> 3 dayThe customer service is great - the unit was auto powering off with no notice or reason, and BenQ quickly issued a shipping label to return and replaced it quickly. Putting a lot of hours on it and working really well. Regarding the unit itself - Android integration is what sets this apart from others of similar quality. The ability to adjust the angle of the lens is nice for fine tuning. The picture quality is really impressive.

> 3 dayThis projector was a direct upgrade from an HT2050, which I loved, and is my first 4K projector. The sharpness of the image and richness of color continue to blow me away every time I watch it. HDR10 support makes a huge difference in picture quality. The improved contrast, due to the inclusion of a dynamic iris, is an added bonus as well! Overall, this is a significant visual upgrade from the HT2050. The HT3550 is easy to setup and requires little or no color calibration out of the box. If your head is near the projector, you will notice some fan noise. This tends to disappear once audio kicks in. At the moment, this is the 4K projector to beat for under $1500. Even when compared to projectors double the price, this projector offers compelling competition.

> 3 dayWeve had this projector for about 4 months now and have to say - its fantastic. Im sure you could spend more money and get a better picture, more features, etc, but for the price, I think this is the best you can get. We have a room that is a light beige color and windows on the back wall - if we wanted to watch this during the day without shades on the windows, the image would be a little dim. That said, any other time, the image is incredibly sharp and the HDR makes everything look great. Weve got it at about 135 and it looks amazing - highly recommended!

> 3 dayWe have been using at-home projection TV for over 25 years, but we had never tried a BenQ. I thought of it as a step up, it cost twice as much as our next most spendy projector. I ordered it ahead instead of another bulb for our Epson, setup was easy and then stuff began to fail. We use a fancy Onkyo amplifier sound system which extracts the most from signals and sources. We enjoy hearing birds flock up in the ceiling / sky. But the Benq strips sound down. How do I know. Well when the BenQ bulb failed so early that I had not stocked a replacement, thinking that was a couple years in the future, I had closeted the old Epson projector and we have not yet agreed on another use, guests or grandkids, so I got it out and replaced the BenQ with the old one and wow it was brighter and the good sound came back. So, now we have new decisions to make, one is to stop believing Amazon ratings. Another, not to count bulb hours until they are achieved. Finally, a three year warranty is not worth anything if the phone number doesnt work.

> 3 dayGreat looking projector Im in the process of building a home theater. This will be the first one Ive put together and I agonized over which projector I was going to buy for a long time. Lamp or laser? Did I need 4k? What about HDR? Was LG a better choice or Optoma? Eventually, I read a very detailed review of the upcoming BenQ HT3550 that made it sound really great. It had the specs I wanted and it was right in my price range, so I made the leap and ordered one. It took about 3 weeks to arrive but I finally got it on Friday. I got it set up fired it up to make sure it works. Everything works great, setup was very easy, and it looks absolutely stunning. The picture is really extraordinary and the colors are fantastic. Its very quiet. And since I didnt have my surround sound system fully set up, I just used the internal speakers and those even sound pretty decent. All in all, this is a fantastic value for the money and I highly recommend it.

> 3 day(Jump to the bottom for suggested calibration settings) The BenQ HT3550 has proven to be a worthy upgrade over the 1080p version. Picture quality is great with one major exception, chromatic aberration. It’s the purple, blue, or green that outlines dark images next to bright images like text on a white background for example. It is quite severe on this model. If you sit far enough from the screen, greater than 1 1/2 times the width of your screen, then you won’t notice it. For those of you who sit closer you may be disappointed. Other minor issues with the image is a tendency toward red, you’ll notice this in very dark scenes, and the inability to get a rich vibrant green (tends more sour green than a punchy green) and yellow (more orange-gold than a sunny yellow). Most won’t notice and the calibration settings at the bottom help. Aside from that you will likely be happy with picture quality, HDR10 actually improves the image unlike other projectors (the Optoma 4K projectors are noticeably worse on HDR10 despite costing more). The fan noise is noticeable when sitting close. It’s 40 decibels at four feet so you’ll want to sit as far away as possible. During regular viewing it isn’t distracting, only when audio is low or a scene is quiet. Use silent mode if you find it distracting. This is a great projector for the money, you should give it a chance before considering the next step up which will cost $1,000 more for the less popular HT5550 and is likely only incrementally better. Calibration settings: These adjustments provided the best contrast with deepest blacks, and strong but natural colors and most importantly realistic skin tones. BenQ Adjusts the D-Cinema settings for color but they were surprisingly flat and the darkest blacks were crushed requiring Gamma to be changed to 1.8, and contrast dialed way down. Therefore, use HDR10 whenever available for best image and if your equipment (streaming device, receiver, etc., doesn’t support it then use the same settings below under Cinema mode. If you sit close to the projector then Silent mode is also acceptable.
