We use box fans with filters like this as air cleaners in our house. We also use filters on the fans when we use them in the windows. These are nice for this purpose. The frame is sturdy enough to attach to the fan (we use angle brackets, but you can also just tape them) and the MERV 8 traps pollen and dust without reducing the air flow too much. As to price these are a tad more than in the big box store but not much.

Great quality air filter, well packaged. There was a slight pinch on the edge of the filter but I corrected that and it didnt affect use. Works great for my HVAC unit. Perfect fit. Reasonably priced. Recommend this product.

I have horrible allergies and these filter out so much of what makes my life miserable I have noticed less dust in the house also.

These are high quality filter, fit perfectly and do what they are intended to do. However, if you are picky about the Merv rating you can purchase a Merv 10 filter at a lower price. I purchased online a six pack of Merv 10 filters at a cost of $6.75 each whereas these Merv 8 filters are $9.33 each. I gave these filters a 5-star rating because of the quality of the filter but as stated above, there are cheaper bulk options available.

These were very easy to install and immediately cut down on dust in the house. They feel very durable and comparable to the higher end ones I used to buy locally. I pulled one out after a couple weeks of use and I could already see the dirt it capture.

I wanted to come up with some kind of objective way to evaluate these filters before writing this review, short of buying air quality testing equipment. So I weighed these (and the filters I normally use) before and after 90-day periods in my furnace. Two things became apparent over the past year of doing this: dust doesn’t weigh much, and there’s enough inconsistency in manufacturing that each filter needs to be weighed before (there seems to be as much as a 10-gram variance from one filter to the next). This is pretty much the same across all brands I’ve tried, so not a specific knock on this brand. I also took before and after pictures. I’m not going to attach the pictures because I am not sure they would accurately represent what I was able to see with my eyes. The camera brightness auto-adjust and varying ambient light between photos makes them appear to be different than observed, so I will just write about what I witnessed. The other brand of filters I normally use are also MERV 8. The result: These filters appear to capture less. They were visibly more white after 90 days than my other filters, and also there was not a noticeable change in weight. The one I tested started out at 134.12 grams and ended up at 134.21 grams (a difference of 0.09 grams). My original MERV 8 filters consistently collect more than 2 grams in the winter and as much as 4 grams in the summer (our doors and windows are open more often in the summer). This is just a simple observation. The weight could have other factors, like moisture content, gravitational anomalies, etc. that are not represented in this data. It very well might be that there is more going on here in these filters than I was able to see. But I wasn’t able to see it. The cost of these filters at the time of this writing are the same or more than competing brands at the same rating.

I purchase these regularly so when I saw these I had to get them.
