Crucial P5 2TB 3D NAND NVMe Internal Gaming SSD, up to 3400MB/s - CT2000P5SSD8

The physical installation of the SSD 1TB was very straightforward enough. However the cloning of the drive and installation as the main drive in a laptop with only 1 available PCIe slot was not as clearly to do. Unlike the many other possible computer configurations that are clearly outlined with the numerous easy to follow videos. My HP 15-ef1003ds laptop required 1 part more reading, 2 parts more of watching videos and 7 parts more guess work, in order to get it running as my primary drive. But in the end it was well worth the extra effort because with the included software that was free I now have faster laptop with a larger capacity drive all at a very reasonable price. And thanks to crucials compatibility program I didnt waste 5 days to only realize that it wasnt going to work for me and instead in under 2 hours I now have what I wanted. You can be sure that when I am ready to upgrade the memory from its current 8gb to its max of 32gb I will be buying crucials 32gb kit without a second of hesitation.

So far so good with this little stick of gum. Read speeds of 3400/mbps and write of 1700/mbps(250GB model). Upgraded from an mx500(sata) and although the difference is less tangible than going from hdd to ssd its still faster. From 1 minute boot times on hdd to 8-12 second boot times on the mx500 and now Im seeing 5-6 second boot times with this one. Its running exactly as it should.

The installation was easier than I expected, but I was not able to get the downloadable Acronis True Image software for Crucial to recognize the new drive while I was cloning the old SSD to the Crucial (I was using the Crucial in an external sidecar enclosure). I downloaded a freeware cloning software package that took care of that problem. Other than that, its currently in my Dell XPS 8920 and performing without any problems.

At first I didn’t think this ssd would make a difference in my laptop performance. When the ssd got delivered, I installed it in my laptop. Install was easy. I then did a speed test, after I had set everything to be working, and man, there was a big difference in speed. My laptop is now booting in seconds. Games load faster. The whole Windows os feels faster. I really recommend this ssd, it’s worth the 60$

I got this to install into my Framework laptop DIY edition. Unfortunately it does not seem to be compatible, so I put Addlink S70 in its place. This SSD drops out when the Framework laptop resumes from sleep, causing the OS to crash. Long press of the power button brings it back. However this SSD works in my desktop as a game drive.

Bought a new laptop and needed a larger NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD. This fit the bill. Crucial is made my Micron, one of, if not the best memory manufacturer out there. So no issues with quality here. This device is lighting quick and has tons of storage. One issue I had wasnt with the SSD itself but the software Crucial recommends--Acronis True Image. Got it for free because, hey, Crucial SSD. Welp, it did not recognize I had a Crucial SSD when it was either in a NVMe USB-C enclosure or in the laptop itself. I had to use different software to clone everything. Now its all done and things are great!

I purchased this SSD to put in a portable M.2 case so I could have some additional portable storage. I dont get full speeds b/c of the case I purchased but they are still more than acceptable (1500 MB read/write). Once the prices come down for USB4/Thunderbolt cases I will upgrade and increase the rest of the speed of this drive. I havent had any issues with the drive at all. I chose this drive b/c I have had a great experience with Crucial drives in the past.

first time getting an NVMe form factor and did not realize they do not come with a stand screw. you will have to purchase the stand separately if you did not get your mobos provided one (if provided at all). also worth pointing out that this is the same speed as any other SSD, but the form factor is different. an m.2 NVMe is what youre looking for if expecting faster speeds.

Ive had this running in my system for a while and the best thing you can say about a hard drive is that I literally havent thought about it since getting over how fast it was. Its stable and fast. Very happy.
