My main options were the Samsung Evo pro m.2 drives but they were much more expensive than this. I have never used a Crucial product so I was going out on a whim and now I wish I bough the 1TB instead. Installing programs, booting windows and transferring items to and from this drive is lightning fast. If you want to save a buck from other products but get similar (if not the same) performance then buy this.

Honestly, after a couple of months and a couple of Linux kernel upgrades, this particular NVME SSD does not seem to work with Linux OSes. I was using it in the Framework laptop running Ubuntu 21.10, latest kernel 15.16 and but my OS did not wake up after sleep. This is the only key issue I had with this. For some reason, if your linux OS goes to sleep, it will have trouble waking up as it will not detect the SSD anymore requiring a hard reboot. This is also a well-reported issue within Framework, but it might be possible it affects other brands as well - as of the time of this writing there are no firmware updates on crucials website either. I have had to resort to the WD SN series and that fixed the sleep issue. Outside of this setback, your mileage may be better. Currently putting this in my PC Windows gaming desktop as extra storage instead. Overall good but not perfect for my situation.

For gaming and a boit drive, it works really well. I will note that the screw cut out is a little big so it could be tricky to install. Also, it is not a full size m.2 drive. So on my motherboard it was actually between the longest screw and the shortest.

Ive had this running in my system for a while and the best thing you can say about a hard drive is that I literally havent thought about it since getting over how fast it was. Its stable and fast. Very happy.

Using this drive (my first M.2 drive) to manage the videos captured by Blue Iris Security software. The SATA drive I was using lagged a bit when the software was trying to write video from three different cameras at the same time. This M.2 drive writes 5 times faster and has no issues with pretty much anything I throw at it. Yes, there are faster M.2 drives but for the great price I paid for this drive, Im very happy. Comes with a 5 year warranty. I have four Crucial SATA drives and have used them for years and no problems. I trust Crucial and put them in the same reliability category as Samsung. The drive was very easy to install (physically) and I used Macrium Free imaging software to copy the OS from the existing drive to the new M.2 drive. Easy peasy.

Specs were as stated. Upgraded Dell laptop NVME 128gb to the Crucial P5 1tb worked perfectly. It does run hot though. Crystal Disk under load hit 75 C.... be aware. Didnt test the previous drive for temp. Couldve been similar. I would recommend a heat sink. Check clearances if in laptop. Extremely fast!

Bought a new laptop and needed a larger NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD. This fit the bill. Crucial is made my Micron, one of, if not the best memory manufacturer out there. So no issues with quality here. This device is lighting quick and has tons of storage. One issue I had wasnt with the SSD itself but the software Crucial recommends--Acronis True Image. Got it for free because, hey, Crucial SSD. Welp, it did not recognize I had a Crucial SSD when it was either in a NVMe USB-C enclosure or in the laptop itself. I had to use different software to clone everything. Now its all done and things are great!

This is a great SSD that tends to get overshadowed by other SSDs. Its easy to install into your pc, pretty much just plug and play. Its great for gaming as youll get better and faster load times, its also great for transferring and downloading files as youll be able to half the amount of time or possibly even more.

So far so good with this little stick of gum. Read speeds of 3400/mbps and write of 1700/mbps(250GB model). Upgraded from an mx500(sata) and although the difference is less tangible than going from hdd to ssd its still faster. From 1 minute boot times on hdd to 8-12 second boot times on the mx500 and now Im seeing 5-6 second boot times with this one. Its running exactly as it should.
