> 3 dayI bought this Dell Curved Gaming, 34 Inch Curved Monitor with 144Hz Refresh Rate, WQHD (3440 x 1440) Display, Black - S3422DWG and would be going from a 27 IPS screen to this VA screen. Reading about the differences I was expecting the picture on my new Dell to be a bit of a downgrade on how the colors would pop. I was willing to make this tradeoff for more screen real estate. However while there is a difference in the two monitors, as to be expected between any monitors, the color issue is nonexistent. This monitor, hooked through the display port, running at 144 HZ, on a 1660 super card is simply brilliant. I did a lot of youtube research before deciding on what model to buy and this one kept coming up as the best in its class as a VA screen. The next possible option was to go IPS and spend another $300-350. Im glad I decided to save a bit of cash and go with this Dell. Its bright, clear, with no dead or bright pixels. Sitting in front of the screen there is no fade as one looks to the edges. Also for a VA screen one can go quite a ways side to side before noting any fade in the picture. To me that is a nonissue anyway as Im always at the desk if using the computer. I was going to install it on my moveable arm but, the stand is so nice, and the monitor so big that I decided not to do that. Instead I used the included stand and it works great. My adjustable arm and old 27 were moved together to my old standby computer and are doing quite well there. The only issue I had was registering it at Dell. When I clicked on the link at their site to register it would only take me to their diagnostic tool that would determine what product I had. Heres where the trouble started as it would only scan my pc, not a Dell, and say my computer couldnt be registered. Duh, its not a Dell. So to register it to my Dell account I had to call Dell support and talk to a tech who completed the registration for me. Ive had it now for almost three weeks and couldnt be happier with my choice.

Greater than one weekAs the headline states I am very impressed with the quality of this thing. The freesync works well with minor flicker if you go out of range but thats with any VA panel. If youre in range with smooth a smooth frame rate the freesync works great. The image quality is amazing, excellent contrast and the brightness is plenty for me measured at some 500 nits on rtings website. The backlight bleed is very minimal so thats crucial for me. It gives a wow effect for sure. Its pretty heavy and bulky so be careful handling this puppy. Its a very solid construct. The base of the stand is heavy which makes me feel like its strong and of quality. It went together like a breeze and when I first started the game I was blown away. Theres a driver to download and install. I did a calibration test through a series of images just eye balling it and it looked spot on perfect. I didnt have to change anything really out of the box. Im not sure if the driver set it up where it needs to be or what but Id suggest the driver on Dells website. Its easy to find on google. Thanks for this amazing product Dell! I sent back that AOC 27 and got this one. This thing is MUCH better but also more expensive.

> 3 dayI moved from a dual (1 IPS 27 2k and 1 IPS 24 4k) panel setup to this panel and the 4k 24in vertically next to it. This panel does have more washed out colors than the IPS panels, but the darks are SOOOOO nice and crisp, it makes up for any color loss, i love it! Also the expected VA smearing is so well handled it does not bother at all in gaming, and I play Star Citizen, which is mostly in dark space areas. I have mine set to very fast per what reviews recommend and what my own testing also showed to be the best setting. People who say once you go wide-screen you cant go back were not lying, it is an awesome experience, especially for immersive games like star citizen. I kept the 24in 4k in a vertical orientation next to the ultra-wide to be a accessory screen for things like discord and obs while Im gaming. I watched a lot of reviews ahead of purchasing this panel and they were all helpful in selecting this over others, im ultra happy with my decision on this ultra-wide :)

> 3 dayI tried the UHD 4K flat-panel version of this monitor in my dual monitor setup. Had to scale UHD to 175% to make the text readable for my older eyes. The flat panels, when angled to each other, were difficult to keep all areas in focus as well. This QHD 2.5K monitor at no scaling matches the pixel density of the scaled UHD. The gentle curve of this monitor removes the need for too much angling of the flat panels and keeps everything in sharp focus in all areas of the screen. I do complex software development and so need the real estate of dual monitors. Text is clear throughout. One drawback with these when used as dual monitors though. While the power button is still below the panel like on the UHD versions, the monitor settings buttons are on the back of the panel. So out of reach on the left monitor when used as dual monitors. Luckily, I do not need to reach the buttons often (for example, to switch the input source).

> 3 dayFirst off - this monitor is amazing. BUT when I plugged it in via HDMI from my Lenovo Thinkpad the resolution was unbearable. This is the same problem with any UWS HD monitor especially if you are using it for work (which I am). I searched countless articles and videos on how to resolve and nothing worked but I figured out the solution so Im saving others my pain. First my laptop is corp issued, under powered and locked down to the point that I cant download .exe drivers. To fix the problem I bought a Startech.com Display port adaptor which has a small GPU installed in it to increase the resolution (about $100 on Amazon). Out of the box the Startech solved the problem but I did have to install the Display port driver from Displayport.com, and thankfully display port offers 3 different formats for the driver including .MSI which bypassed my .exe block on my corp computer. The monitor works perfectly and is totally game changing. So if you are stuck trying to drive it with an old or underpowered laptop get yourself the adaptor - was literally plug and play out of the box with the driver install and the monitor is perfect.

> 3 dayAfter Burn-in streaking wasnt a problem on my monitor. However the 144hz refresh rate at full res and HDR needs displayport. Ive got it connected to a laptop with only HDMI out. The monitor is able to run it at 100hz and with HDR well.

> 3 dayI bought this for my haven for Christmas and he seriously cried. It’s now June and he still loves it beyond words. Amazing for gaming and even school/office work. I’m so glad I bought this.
