Dove Refillable Deodorant Starter Kit 0% Aluminum Cucumber & Green Tea Aluminum Free Deodorant 1.13 oz

The deodorant broke off the refill one month in. If that didn’t happen, this would be the best product. But now I have to cup it in my hand to use and it’s kinda gross.

I took this with me on a short trip. I noticed how there wasnt any protection along the shaft of the refill, so I was very careful and used very little pressure. It still snapped off, broke, and fell to the ground the very first time I used it. It kept falling every time Id try to apply deodorant until the shape could no longer be wedged into the base disk. I had to just smear it all over my underarms. I threw it away as soon as I was ready to check out of my hotel. What a waste. I use this deodorant regularly and it performs well, and the original packaging is perfect! This travel/refill nonsense just needs to be discontinued immediately.

I purchased this product because I liked the regular style with the turn / click base, but really liked the environmentally conscious refill aspects of this one, so I purchased it to try it out. First try, I put it together which was super easy, and then attempted to apply it to my armpits. The stick broke off of the holder, right at the base. It was a clean break, so I couldnt try popping it back in. There isnt a tube for it, so I would have to hold the actual deodorant to apply it without the holder. Messy fingers, no thanks. Great idea, but poor design. I tried to salvage it by sticking it in my old click/turn deodorant. Doesnt have the same shape, so that didnt work either.

The design is faulty, the solid of the deodorant falls off with minimum pressure and then youre trying to use this blob of softish stuff full of lint etc getting all over your fingers. They needed to make the usual push up of the blob container and thought theyd make a refill and save money? and landfill? The only one saving money is the company with this product cause its a waste of your money. I like the product but the spray is too cold and this is too difficult to use.

I really wanted to like this. I like the idea. But if you’ve ever broken your lipstick off the tube, expect the same thing to happen with this. The 2nd time I used it, the deodorant broke off of the holder, which means I have to hold the “gel stick” in my hands to apply it. Good idea. Bad execution.

I like the product except for it fell off the base, so now I have to hold the actual substance to put it on. It should have a way to gradually expose more product as you go, like every other deodorant on the planet.

I love the idea of a deodorant that reduces plastic waste. There are a couple of things to note and one thing that Dove should create. First, the deodorant block will snap off if youre not careful to maintain a 90 degree angle with your skin. Second there is some plastic, the cap and base for a new cartridge, that Dove says is recyclable but doesnt carry a recycle mark. Some recycle centers wont accept the plastic without this marking. Finally, the metal base for the deodorant is simply too small for a mans hand. I have to pinch the base between my thumb and finger tips like Im holding a decorative mini sandwitch at a party. The mens version of this product has the same base. It just replaces the white cap with a manly black cap...

BOTTOM LINE: The quality of the deodorant is very good & I will continue to use it. Ive been using this daily for a few weeks and Ive traveled with it. Because it sits on top of the base, you get the feeling of having to put it on gently, otherwise itll break. So I use it only from the top. When you put it on, its really smooth. The fragrances are nice and really lasts. The lid comes off fairly easy, which can be annoying. This is truly a travel size deodorant. About half the size of a passport. I recommend a toiletry bag when traveling. It needs a magnetic close or slightly stronger clicking system for closing.

Loved the refillable factor; not so much the metal base, not sure how that would be for getting through airport security. Seemed to work well to replace the Adidas product I have used for years. Issue is that it broke off during my second day of use. Not a fan of it hitting the floor or having to use my fingers. So basically wasted my money

The deodorant part did not stay secured to its plastic piece that clicks into the base. Only the Deodorant piece fell off. Needs better design.
