I have purchased this particular outlet twice, and both have failed after 2-3 years. At a lower price point I could justify buying them as disposable but not at $50...

I expected the center button to be able to enable/disable it. Nope. Edit 1-Oct: After the seller said it should and must be faulty, I gave it a good whack before having to remove it. Sure enough the thing started working correctly. It leaves the quality in question a little, so I wont give it 5 stars. In the end it is working and added to Smartthings easily.

Placed this near SmartThings hub. Install is very easy. Before it died (at about year 3) it worked most of time time. Periodically it would not sync properly with my hub and would seem to go missing. Factory reset and rejoining to hub would fix that issue. I will no longer deploy in-wall smart outlets, Id rather just use the more reliable and cheaper smart plugs that seem to be very reliable.

Would be perfect device if power monitoring was added.

Ive had two of these installed for almost a year. Theyre good products. One of them started having intermittent problems. I contacted GE support and found it reasonably easy to get a warranty replacement. They stated that the replacement would cancel the balance of the warranty. I think thats acceptable. But the replacement unit was defective. The ground terminal screw was over-torqued and the ground terminal was pressed into the body. It was impossible to connect the ground lead. I think they sent me a unit that somebody else had returned. As previously stated, I had used my warranty. I had no choice but to buy a new one. Its OK if a product isnt quite perfect. But sending bad units out as warranty replacements is poor form.

While the plug itself was easy to install, we had problems with understanding how to connect with hub. Once figured out and app was installed on one of our phones the process was fine, but when we tried to add another phone with the app they didnt synk together to read the same information. Could be operator error but it was too much of a hassle. Past timeline to return it so I am looking for another brand without the hub.

Used a pair of these in a dozen device network controlled by my alarm system. They are mounted in an appropriate waterproof duplex box with clear cover. Both always on outlets work. The Z-wave outlets connected promptly and easily to my controller and have worked flawlessly.

This is a quality piece of equipment. Works as intended. A bit fat and it was quite some pain to install on the facade, but it works like a charm with my veralite. As far as water protection concerned, I had to put a water protecter cover.

Connected right up with my SmartThings hub and has been working great. The only thing I dont like is that this is a TR receptacle which Im not a big fan of because of the difficulty in plugging things in.
