I have purchased this particular outlet twice, and both have failed after 2-3 years. At a lower price point I could justify buying them as disposable but not at $50...

Nothing wrong with the outlets, but unlike the picture on the box, it actually does not include the white faceplate so if you are replacing traditional outlets, plan to head to the hardware store for faceplates. They should be about $1each so I recommend not getting them from amazon

Had little trouble paring this to my system...apparently I had a gap in my wireless web. Once I got it paired, it has worked flawlessly over the past several months.

Like the new design they have. Easy to install and definitely makes life a bit easier now. Have maybe ten throughout the house.

Super easy to install with the Smartthings platform. This switch is great because one outlet is constantly powered and the other is a smart switch that can be programmed via your smart hub. Works great and has never lost connection or failed in over a year of use. I have several throughout the house and all work flawlessly

I have installed a dozen of these on my Vera, and on my Ezlo, home automation hubs. Easy to pair to the hubs and then to Alexa and because of the hubs, they will continue to function in the event of loss of internet service.

This outlet is a revision of an earlier GE Z-Wave outlet. Ive purchased and installed maybe a dozen of those earlier outlets without a hitch - theyre all working perfectly fine. I wanted to expand my Z-Wave network, so I bought two of these. After wrestling with them for three hours, Im shipping them back. These outlets have three problems: 1) The bolts that hold in the wires are loose - the only way to extend them fully is to hold the outlet upside-down. If you tilt the outlet so the bolts are facing downward, they retract into the hole. And they dont extend very far, so the only way to couple a wire with the nut is to hold the outlet with that bolt facing upward. The bolts are also positioned on the left, right, and bottom sides. As a result, youve got to twist and turn this outlet to get each of the wires in. The alternative is to wire in pigtails to all three bolts and then couple the pigtails with the wires in the wall, which is a lot of extra work for no good reason. 2) The bolts are positioned very close to the housing - such that trying to get a wire of any reasonable gauge to fit around the actual shaft of the bolt is extremely difficult for no good reason. Also, the bolts are slightly beveled, such that half the time you try to tighten down one of the nuts, the bolt squeezes out the wire which comes loose. This is not just extremely irritating - it is a little fire hazard, if the line happens to come detached! 3) After struggling to wire up this outlet, I flipped the breaker and tested it with an outlet tester, which read: Neutral line reversed. I confirmed that the polarity was correct going into the outlet (black = live, white = neutral = 0V) and that they were attached to the right bolts (black bolt = live; white bolt = neutral), and reconnected. Nope, same thing. I dont know whether this outlet was wired incorrectly or what, but again, its a fire hazard. I have no idea how GE couldve screwed up so badly with something as simple as an outlet. Again, the old GE outlets worked perfectly fine. Im now returning these POS outlets and looking to buy some of the old ones.

I replaced an older Smarthome technology with this unit. It has the added benefit that off means off. Ive had issues with some smart on/off modules where they leak current when ostensibly off. Thats a real problem if the load is an LED light as they will glow at a low level. In a bedroom thats no bueno as it disturbs my sleep. This unit is fast and when off leaks no power. Very happy!

Although a bit expensive, this zwave plug is easy to install and pairs quickly with the Hubitat zwave hub. Works great.
