If you want to have to buy them all again in 26 months and have to go through the hassle of replacing them, these are the outlets for you. Otherwise stay clear. I have 15 of these and they are ALL dead. None lasted more than 29 months. Total garbage. Trying the Leviton brand ones now.

Had this to control some household lighting and it worked great. (Purchased June 2018). Today, I turned off breaker to do maintenance on circuit, turned back on - blue LED indicator now blinks once / second. Ive attempted to reset without success. Disappointed that it didnt last very long.

Took me a few tries to get it paired with my Wink hub, but after setting my hub to inclusion mode for Z-Wave it paired up and now I have a great robot setup to turn on and off the outlet, which powers a lighted decorative tree. Im looking forward to having this setup for the holidays as we use the same outlet for our Christmas tree and itll be nice to be sure it gets turned on and off. With it paired to Wink we can further control it with our Alexa without issue.

I have installed one of these outlets in almost every room in my house and like the ability to automate lamps that are plugged into them using my Z-Wave hub and its integration with Google Home. I run timed automations via the hub and its software (Trane Home) and use Google voice commands to turn lights on and off. The outlets generally work well and are reliable (unlike some of the more portable plug-in modules which often are unavailable right now according to Google). However, beware a power outage! I have now had my third unit fail after a power outage (which are increasingly frequent here in Texas). Im assuming the surge when power is restored fries the internal relay. At now nearly $40 each, these units are fast becoming more costly than is warranted by their convenience and unobtrusive appearance.

Receptacle is doing low-level buzzing noise in the On state, like a cheap phone charger. Competitors dont have such an issue having almost identical price. I dont recommend to use Enbrighten 55256 anywhere at residential due to the buzzing noise.

I bought this to control some lighting in my home. I originally had an older wink hub, and despite the works with wink branding I was unable to pair the outlet. I even moved the hub 10ft away. I just upgraded to a new smartthings hub and it paired seamlessly. I have since bought more outlets as well as other switches from the Jasco/Ge Z-wave line.

This experience was with an Amazon Refurbished Enbrighten outlet that was rated as Very Good by Amazon. Physical product looked pristine, physical installation was easy, BUT installation onto Z-wave SmartThings was a nightmare even with JASCO Product Support. The Tech declared that it had a bad computer chip and advised that I return it. Since I had repaired my Z-wave network, I saw thar there was a new GE Switch. It turned out that this Outlet registered as GE Switch and functions as a switch.

Bought this because in the Q&As and in reviews customers said the face plate could be swapped with almond color. However this out does not have an interchangeable faceplate… it’s white ONLY. Mea culpa… don’t trust reviewer with product facts. :) otherwise it installed quickly and paired easily.

I have several wifi plugs and switches and no hubs. I wanted one to install into the wall instead of plugging into the outlet. Good reviews, didnt read that I needed a Z-Wave Hub. Had to purchase that too. Since it was already installed, bit the bullet and bought the hub. Terrible to setup, finally after five tries it started working. It works now. But, with the expense of the switch and hub, its not really cost effective. Lesson learned, READ EVERYTHING.

I would expect this device to last more than 24 months. The hassle of replacing it out weighs the cost. Not happy, expect more from a company as large as GE.
