This thing is amazing!!! The picture is bright, the colors are incredible, and the blacks are as black as I’ve seen in a projector! All that and I only use it outdoors where there’s plenty of ambient light. The projection is so bright I was able to watch a movie before sunset. Great product! Thank you!

I recently upgraded my Optima and this was a great choice. A little bigger (heavier) than the previous projector. But the image quality and especially sound (very quiet) was well worth the price. I love the colors and blacks. I use it in my sunroom (with darkening shades), but it is even presentable in the daylight. But at night or a darken room is where it really shines. Good investment for movie night and general tv watch with an Apple tv.

This is our first time using a home theater projector and we love it. We’re able to project a massive 130+” picture and still retain great brightness in a room which is not purpose built for projectors...one of our bedrooms. The picture attached is an initial test, not even at HDR brightness. Picture is solid, bright and HUGE. Setup was literally plug and play with some minor focusing + and adjustments of the lens + feet. Doesn’t have any “smart tv” capabilities but that’s fine, we’re using an Apple TV 4K and it works great. Comes with decent speakers which was surprising, definitely not room filling action movie sound but good enough for some basic video watching. My only “con” to this projector is lack of Dolby Vision. A lot of Apple TV content (Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video) is at Dolby Vision quality while this projector is at HDR 10, not a deal breaker but would have preferred Dolby Vision capability are this price point. Still, the picture is GREAT...not LED/OLED bright but the size this thing projects at, the picture quality and the cinematic brightness (you really don’t need eye piercing brightness when watching in dark) really come together in a solid projector package. You’ll be very happy with this purchase.

Heavy (compare with Optoma UHD-50X), I dont feel very comfortable sitting under it. Kind of noisy (compare with Optoma UHD-50X) Picture is sharp in the middle but blurry on the sides. The BIGGEST problem is, it doesnt work with the 50ft HDMI 2.0 cable I laid behind the wall and ceiling! I tried many different computers and a SONY Blu-ray disk player, NO SIGNAL! It only worked with a Acer Laptop computer. VERY FRUSTRATED! Finally, I got the Optoma UHD-50X, it worked right the way! And the Optoma is so much lighter, quieter, image is sharp everywhere! I can finally relaxed and enjoyed the big screen. Compare with the UHD-50X, This projector looks better, and the quick corner function is so much easier to adjust the screen.

I recently replaced by 11 year old Mitsubishi projector with the Epson 3200 for my media room. However, after a short time I decided to return the 3200 due to internal dust on the lens and dissatisfaction with the black (or in this case gray) levels. I then upgraded to the 3800 and I am extremely happy. The contrast improvement between the 3200 and 3800 was immediately noticeable. The colors, contrast and sharpness are fantastic. While this is not a true 4k projector, it is miles ahead of my old Mitsubishi projector and an improvement over the Epson 3200.

We are very happy with our purchase. We painted our white wall to a light grey to use as our projector screen and it works very well. A massive upgrade from our previous short throw projector. If you’re looking for a home projector to stream movies or play games, this is a good buy.

Im new to projectors. Only have a cheap $200 one to compare it to. Picture is sharp, very bright, works well in room even when the window shades are open. No complaints. Good value for the money.

Works quite well right out of the box. There are some issues getting focus perfect in all areas of the screen, but installation went really quick to replace older 720p DLP ceiling mount unit in the same spot. The flexibility of the throw distance made this the right choice. Wide range on optics for zoom and lens shift allow it to go right up. However, as discussed in some forums, it obviously wants a perfectly perpendicular lens geometry for accurate focus. Any down tilt for ceiling throw off keystone and thus requires minor compromise on perfection. I may have to lower the mount to get this right. However, that said for the money this does seem to a sweet spot right now. I wish I waited a few more days because it looks like it is about to break some more on the price, making it even sweeter. I expect that trend to continue over the next few weeks.

My TV is LG OLED and old projector is Optoma HD39Darbee. After I purchased OLED tv, I could not watch Optoma 1080p projector anymore. Enter Epson 3800. Now I do have a choice, I like both options, depending on the mood. What is interesting is that Epson3800s info section says it is 4K resolution projector. I tried ``True 4K Optoma Uhd38 and its info section says it is 1080p. HD39Darbee is actually better UHD38 in color and the resolution perception for me. But Epson 3800 is a principally refinement and is a clear motivation for me to move into the 4K area of projectors. The colors are outstanding, the resolution is excellent for me, not annoying, it definitely provides a 3D feeling to the 4K HDR picture. The setup is OK, a lot of lens shifting. So, if someone wants to move into the 4K area of projectors, Epson 3800 is my first recommendation (if not to look into $5000+ area).

The picture was good when it was in focus but the picture changes to fuzzy periodically
