Just My Opinion
> 3 dayThis came with a PopSocket gift but they didnt need to buy my happiness: this is a well made set. We had to purchase one of these when my daughter was in Girl Scouts and there is no comparison. This set is less expensive and 10x better quality. This comes with a whistle, scraper (end), flint and striker. There is a length of paracord to hold it all together. You could put all these on a small locking carabiner and attach it to your backpack.

Greater than one weekHuuggeee sparks come out of this one . I’ve had other fire starters that make small sparks. The stick itself is also big so it will last a while. Don’t really use the whistle but maybe someday it’ll come in handy because it’s really loud. The other fire starters I’ve used are much harder to make fires with and I use them at work all day. Teaching basic survival skills

> 3 dayThis was a great set for the price. The firestarter is amazing, got a fire started on the first try. The serrated edge is great for making wood shavings. The whistle was a bonus, but holy cow , its so LOUD, will definitely be carrying this along with me in case of emergencies

> 3 dayThe whistle is loud and sounds like a train. The sparks made are super big when I first tested it I had several plumes of smoke going up from just the sparks works wonderfully. I keep it in my car in case of the worst but had fun testing/playing with it when i got it

> 3 dayStarter came in right on time for a trip I have. I tried a few times. Sparks fly with this one. I once had a cheaper one. And I guess you get what you pay for. It took two strikes and it had a fire in no time.
