Fluke 117 Digital Multimeter, Non-Contact AC Voltage Detection, Measures Resistance/Continuity/Frequency/Capacitance/Min Max Average, Automatic AC/DC Voltage Selection, Low Impedance Mode

This meter is a beast. It is more than I need for most jobs but the range of features has me covered for those odd instances. I only wish it came with a case.

Two things makes this meter stand out. The LOW impedance mode for determining stray voltage and the beeping mode when near hot circuits without using any meter leads. Everything else is just normal multimeter specs. This meter is not for the electronic specialist doing serious electronic board work. It is suited for the average homeowner and electrical contractor. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

This unit rocks! Granted it wont do a lot of stuff as the more expensive models but for everyday usage for basic and intermediate usage, this will more than meet your needs. One thing I did not like is the back of this (where I assume the test leads can be attached to) didnt quite fit; it kept on popping out.

If youre doing control work, this is not the meter for you. Cant do mA readings. Had to send mine back and get the more expensive model. But still a great meter for general electrical testing.

This has it all. Contactless voltage testing, capacitance testing, and it gives true RMS measurements too. Excellent for HVAC or general electrical work around the house.

Overall very impressed with the functionality of this meter, leaps ahead of my manual cheap Klein. The auto-voltage/low impedance and non-contact voltage detection modes are handy. My only complaints... No case? No magnetic hanger? No lead attachments? I mean pick one, any one fluke and throw it in the box. I appreciate the tool a lot but this investment cost another investment just for the nifty add ons. Also, the display needs work. Like maybe switch to LCD or a different backlight method. Otherwise, excellent meter.
