If you just need a good quality - general purpose DMM, this is the ONE. for the $$, it cannot be beat. FLUKE quality and accuracy.

I am an electrical engineer and have been using this meter for about six weeks so far. I am very happy that I didnt settle for a no-name meter. Build quality seems excellent. No complaints about the display readability and the backlight is fine. The LoZ feature for AC volts is essential for many applications. The leads that come with it are pretty stiff, so I am glad that I also bought the 175E silicone leads. I can also recommend the Aenllosi Hard Protective Case, since the 117 doesnt come with one.

Fluke is known for making some of the best multimeters around, and it did not disappoint. The backlight is useful in poor lighting scenarios, is very sensitive, and thus gives very precise readings. Not everyone needs to spend this much on a meter, but if you do any serious electrical/electronics work or hobbies, Id recommend this meter, it may be the last one you ever need to buy. The case seems to be of superior quality and the substantial rubber outside should provide good protection for most falls and drops. I dont really have any cons I can convey about this meter!

I like the Volt Alert. It saved me a lot of time finding which wall outlets were on a circuit breaker that keeps kicking.

meter is perfect but display sucks, im pro tech, and wanted something for my second bench, so i got this and returned it cuz i couldn’t see the numbers , display is horrible , got another fluke 289 and happy now
