Fluke 117 Digital Multimeter, Non-Contact AC Voltage Detection, Measures Resistance/Continuity/Frequency/Capacitance/Min Max Average, Automatic AC/DC Voltage Selection, Low Impedance Mode

I am an electrical engineer and have been using this meter for about six weeks so far. I am very happy that I didnt settle for a no-name meter. Build quality seems excellent. No complaints about the display readability and the backlight is fine. The LoZ feature for AC volts is essential for many applications. The leads that come with it are pretty stiff, so I am glad that I also bought the 175E silicone leads. I can also recommend the Aenllosi Hard Protective Case, since the 117 doesnt come with one.

This is the best meter on the market for the money. Among all the standard features that a DMM offers, Its ability to measure capacitance is really handy. No one builds products that will last a lifetime anymore. No one, except Fluke. Id imagine that this will be the last DMM I will ever own.

This is a great multimeter and it works perfect. The reason I give it 4 out of five stars is because the beep from the continuity tester is really faint. I use it in a manufacturing setting where there’s loud machines, drills, and guys with loud stereos. We use the Fluke 87 and I can hear that perfect, this Fluke 117 can barely be heard. If you’re doing a continuity test constantly look elsewhere.

Like others have complained, at an angle the display is too dim making it unreadable. Other than that, its a good meter.
