Freud 40-114: 1-5/8 (Dia.) Chamfer Bit

I used this to bevel 50 six foot long, 3/4” thick redwood pickets. I was pleasantly surprised to find the bit still going strong even after cutting through plenty of knotholes.

I always am pleased with everything I have bought made by freud. When used correctly it works as advertised. I will buy other freud router bits and saw blades.

Typical excellent Freud quality - this bit mills aluminum as well as wood. Cuts are super clean, no tearout when using the proper speed and feedrate. Zero chatter.

Using this to create 1 inch chamfers on newel posts. Red Oak that is still very wet (12% moisture <) Took my time using Bosch 2.25 hp router and stepping between cuts slowly. Took some time to figure out correct speed setting on the router to keep the bit spinning (cutting) when engaged with over .5 inch of material being cut. Would buy again if needed.

Performed as expected; due to its size, it has a lot of in-between potential for different applications and different sizes of woods.

I only work with hardwoods and this blades cuts over and over a very clean cut

Worked very well with a clean smooth face on the cut.

We wanted to install our new vessel sink sunk part way into the countertop so that it wasnt too tall. This bit made a perfect angled lip in the countertop so there was a nice, wide contact zone for the caulking to adhere between the bowl and the counter.
