Giro Fixture MIPS Adult Mountain Cycling Helmet

I cycle and mountain bike. I was looking for a helmet that I could use for both. Originally, I bought this one for my boyfriend so he could ride with me since he was riding without a helmet. After seeing how it looked and how comfortable he said it was, I bought one for myself. It is a (one size) helmet which made me a little unsure of buying, but it is easily adjustable for all sizes. the helmet itself isnt super bulky which I like a lot. Plus it looks great on men and women. Im really glad I bought one for both of us!

This is a great affordable mips helmet. I have a giant bison size head and it adjusted out to fit my head well. My son who has a normal size noggin also wears the same model helmet. So far it has held up well and is vented enough to stay comfortable...

Great helmet! Fits well and doesn’t move around during the ride. Plenty of ventilation. I ate it pretty good and went over the bars for the first time going downhill. Shoulder took the brunt of the fall, but I also smacked my head pretty good. I’m confident that I’d probably have a concussion if it weren’t for this helmet. Get this helmet!

The visor is gray, the giro sticker branding are orange, and the straps are blueish/greenish (on the black version, the gray one has the colors correct)

Light and super strong, had an accident with a hard oak brunch, stopped it like it wasn’t even existing.

So many helmets are listed as xl when in fact they’re just larges being labeled as xl.

First, GET A MIPS HELMET such as this one. They absorb more impact from more angles than older helmets, which are pretty puny. It is worth the money. Its your head. ------- I have a big funny-shaped head and I was concerned about fit. Rightly so. It might have taken me 20 or 30 minutes to get it right. I just kept at it, tugging at one thing and adjusting another, and it fit. If it fits me, it should fit everybody within the advertised size range. I havent bought a new bicycle helmet of this type in probably 15 years, and it wouldnt surprise me if they are all hard to adjust like this, so Im not taking away any stars. This is a very well-made product. I have never purchased one of the extremely popular generic $30 helmets available on this site, but I suspect this one is a better value. MIPS, foam cleanly molded into shell, solid feel, looks good. I am a penny-pincher and I think this is an awesome deal, and Id think so even if I spent $75 or $80 on it. (Also note: the fact that this is a mountain bike helmet means that it covers more of the back of your head. Unless you are a road racer counting grams, you want this feature.)

Holy cow! Just had the worst mountain bike crash of my life, broke bones and sprained joints and didn’t realize till hours later that I had destroyed this helmet. The MIPS technology did exactly what it was supposed to. Despite a huge impact I had zero concussion or head related symptoms. I will never buy a helmet without MIPS ever again.Visor is nice for mountain biking. Red looks particularly sick.

I have a giant noggin (cant wear almost any off the shelf hats, one size fits all definitely doesnt include me). Its hard for me to find a helmet that fits, but this one does and is quite comfortable. (I ordered the Universal XL size) .

I had the matte black and took a 5ft fall on my head. I cracked the helmet and had a small scrap on my forehead. Thus helmet prevented me for having a more serious injury. So I purchased a new one because I trust the brand.
