Giro Fixture MIPS Adult Mountain Cycling Helmet

I had ordered and returned another cheaper helmet. I should have just got this Giro Fixture the first time. The other helmet looked fine in the photos and sounded good from the description but when it arrived it was anything but. It was big, goofy-looking, didn’t sit well on my head and the straps weren’t adjustable. I got this Giro Fixture in red after my refund came through and it was 1000x better and 1000x worth the extra $25. It’s incredibly comfortable, stylish, MIPS certified, and I didn’t even have to adjust the straps. It just felt right immediately. I’ve only done one ride with it so far but it’s the best helmet I’ve ever owned. I hope it lasts me through lots of great trail riding. Lesson learned—when it comes to bike helmets, stick with a reputable brand.

Ive been using Giro helmets for years from the OG Switchblade to the Xen and onwards my last helmet was purchased maybe 8 yrs ago then i stopped riding for a while .. getting back into it was thinking a new helmet was prob a good idea, now they all have the MIPS tech my last Giro didnt come with so found this on sale its a good helmet no frills, so low price, fits great on my big head, the only small issue is the straps are a tiny bit short and as they are non adjustable around the ears, ( fused at a point that should be under your ear, no buckles) you cant open the ear straps up a bit if needed.. (my ear lobes get caught in the V of the straps a bit) but this helmet should fit 95% of riders perfectly well and it has great coverage. My last helmet was of the time when MTB helmets came in 3 options 1- Full face like Troy lee, THE, 661, Giro, 2- Adapted road helmets: Virtually all MTB helmets at the time, 3- Skate board/ park type helmets.. Things are better today. ;-)

Fits well and has a cool look. Visor is removable and it has dial to adapt to your head size. Extremely lightweight but feels firm.

This helmet is lightweight and comfortable. I had to get the extra large size. Works great for wearing. Luckily, I havent had to test how well it protects me.

My 14 year old son and I went for a 10 mile ride . On the way back , just a few blocks from the house he fell at a crosswalk as he came to a stop . He hit his head on the pavement and ended up getting a concussion. Took him to the hospital . He could not remember anything that had happened that day . After a ct scan he was cleared for any bleeding or fractions . The next day he was back like nothing happened. I can’t imagine what would have been had he not been wearing his helmet. …..remember he was almost stopped and slipped on the wet sidewalk as he put his foot down ……wear your helmets !!!!!!!

Great helmet! It’s light weight, has detachable visor and go-pro mountable. Very comfortable and adjusts to a perfect fit for whatever head you put it on. Only thing I would want is the ability to adjust the ear holes, when wearing headphones it kinda rides right underneath my lobe, which lends to occasionally knocking out my air pod. I may just have a huge dome, but it’s literally the only tiff I have with this. I wear it every day on my ride and like the style/comfort/color.

I bought two of these. It is very comfortable and is the only helmet I have found that will fit my large head.

Took a fall over the handlebars and landed head first. Dislocated shoulder, fractured bones, helmet cracked all the way through, but my head was saved and I had no concussion. If not for the helmet there is no way I am writing this review. It served its purpose well and for the price, I doubt there is anything better. Great value helmet.

Im a simple biker. I was on Switchback Travels website which covered best bike helmets, and this helmet was described as having a good balance of great features at a balanced priced. Obviously more expensive than what you get at a walmart, but its nice to know that Im getting a semi-premium helmet without being ridiculously expensive. Id buy again..
