Takes the rust right off without hurting the finish. A friend let me know about this stuff and boy am I thankful. I had a small bit of surface rust on a revolver from 1918. As you might imagine, I was very concerned about not harming the intact finish on the gun. Well this stuff did the trick! Using some Kroil and this bronze wool I was able to gently rub off the rust over an hour and a half and the gun looks great now (as great as it can with a little bit of finish missing). The rust is completely gone and the rest of the finish is no worse for the wear. If I had used even 0000 steel wool, I could not say the same. This is a must have tool!

Great for scouring, rust removal, and polishing wood. Less aggressive than steel wool, wont scratch blued guns (if oil is used), and doesnt leave behind little rusting fibers of steel in your fine woodworking!

This wool is more the equivalent of medium grade steel wool, not what I consider as fine. I use it to clean small brass parts after soldering. Seems to flake a lot more than I thought it should. My first time using brass wool.

    The best for polishing chrome!

Works great for cleaning old tarnished chrome back to a showroom shine! Wish it would last a little longer as it disintegrates in you hand if you are really working with it. Its a little messy but the best option by far,!

This is exactly the product for which I was looking. I shall be putting it to use in a somewhat unorthodox manner; I teach a self-contained geometry class to high school girls who have learning disabilities. One of the things I have noticed is that they have trouble translating what they learn in the subject to the real world, so I designed a class in which we are applying what we are learning by building miniature furniture in detail, using everything we learn in geometry to design and build what I teach. Aside from being a doctoral candidate in Special Education, Im a master cabinetmaker, so I know how to teach carpentry. The steel wool is to be used to rub down the items we build after giving it several coats of varnish in order to achieve a very smooth and professional finish. This steel wool is absolutely the perfect quality for that purpose and will not make uneven scratches in the finish of the wood surface on which we are presently working. It will help to smooth the wood perfectly to receive its final coats of varnish. As I said, a bit of an unorthodox use of the product, but thats why I bought it, and its quality is just that for which I was looking. If you are into woodworking, youll love this bronze wool.

This was perfect to gently remove rust on parts that have a surface finish, like bluing. It also worked well to smooth down any overly textured piece of Cerakoted metal, like a rough edge or a piece that somehow ended up with a noticeable texture from fingerprints.

Who reviews bronze wool, for gosh sakes. I bought this stuff to remove lead from gun barrels after using target lead loads, and it is utterly fantastic in that regard. If you shoot, get some, wrap a pinch around your nylon bore brush and look at the shiny bore it leaves. You wont be sorry.

I had heard about using steel wool for cleaning water spots and hard debris on your windshield. At the same time I have heard of micro scratches and tiny bits left over that can rust and smear on your windshield. My solution was bronze wool, softer than steel and doesnt rust, and I am happy to say it worked perfectly! Water spots and wiper marks that are around 10years old are no longer visible. Other than a tiny crack (from a rock) my windshield looks brand new. I would recommend!

I have been using this wool on my chrome for years and it doesn’t scratch it at all.
