Ive bought several of the previous model for various rooms in my house, and Im not happy with this latest model. Pros: Its cheaper than the last model, but I think its cheaper for a reason... The setup was definitely easier than the previous model, and it might be more stable, but I think thats where the pros end. Cons: First off, its not as powerful as the previous model. I think the highest setting is equal to the lowest setting on the previous model. They removed the internal dust screen. That dust screen was incredible and much needed with our pets. I had to buy an external dust screen that really restricts the airflow even more. Some of the buttons on the remote will activate settings on the older fans, so its basically useless.

It is not really quiet. It produces some rattle noises at any of the levels it offers. I suppose it is reasonable for the price but I’m not pleased. The remote should have a button to turn the light off — to turn the light off, you need to repeatedly push a button that cycles through different brightness levels of the light, including no light.

I bought this after reading many good reviews of the unit. At first I was pretty happy with it, it was relatively quiet on higher settings but oddly more noisy at lower levels. If you live in a city where there is a constant hum this wont be a problem but in our quiet house the lower levels have an obvious electrical hum due to the speed control circuitry being cheap. After a year or so we started to notice a light grinding/clicking sound. After disassembling the unit to inspect what might be making the noise it was discovered that the sound was coming from the fan motor itself. After cleaning the inside of the unit and using some light oil to try to keep things running smooth I put it back together and decided to just live with it. Recently I bought another one of these and to my surprise the old one is moving about half or less of the air that the new one is. Yes, you might think well he took it apart so he just didnt put it back together correctly and I get that and cannot stop you from thinking that. On the other hand I know my way around fixing things and the fan worked exactly the same before taking it apart as after (just a bit cleaner and more lubed). What this says to me is that the fan motor and/or motor control circuitry on this unit is under-powered and is being worked too hard leading towards premature failure. A good fan should be able to last at least 5 years before any noticeable wear or failure IMO. At this point the fan puts out about as much air on high as the new one does at the white noise level. Pros: decent noise level even at higher speeds good range of speeds remote works well Cons short lifespan (1-2 years) developed clicking/grinding difficult to clean properly without taking the unit apart

Its ok, not bad. It moves air and rotates. It advertises itself as quiet, but it is really only quiet if you are on the bottom 3 settings. It makes sound when it oscillates. The remote is handy, but the light comes back on when you adjust the speed or oscillation with the remote making me have to get up and turn the light off. Unless there is a major sale I would say dont get this one.

This fan is as advertised. It is easy to assemble, and easy to operate, and does a good job.

My old fan broke so I bought this newer version of the same fan. Easy to assemble. I love that you can completely turn off the indicator light. I sleep with it on next to my bed every night and like not having the additional light. Great setting options

Description is not accurate. I wanted black and the only option was to get the tower fan + the mini fan but mini fan did not arrive despite paying extra for it. The tower fan works well. VERY quiet, easy to use, very lightweight. Its a bit annoying that every time you shut it off, you have to reselect the fan speed and oscillation but I can live with that.

I purchased this fan as a replacement for the immediate previous version of the QuietSet tower fan, for my baby’s room (when purchased, he was just over a year). All-in-all, this is a good fan though not one to totally rave about. Some things to consider: I’ve owned a few QuietSet fans from Honeywell. They tend to last me, so I keep going back. Although I enjoy the white noise from a good fan, QuietSet fans are very quiet. In low modes, you can’t tell they are on by the sound. It also means, however, that these are not extremely powerful fans. Perfect for a home already air conditioned, looking for additional circulation or something to keep you cooler at night without jacking up the power bill — or, as I am currently using it, for your baby’s room. The original version had 5 modes instead of 8. Although I think the 5 modes pretty much covered the fan speeds you’d need, adding 3 more doesn’t hurt you any. What I absolutely didn’t like about this tower fan, was that the light from the fan used to automatically turn off after a handful of seconds. This version has a light like a beckon! It seriously lights up an entire room. There is a button on the fan to dim the light or turn it off completely. But (1) that makes the remote control useless because you eventually will get up to walk over to the fan to turn off the annoying light, and (2) it has 4 dimmer modes.... which makes no sense to me. On or off. Maybe, I’ll give you, the option for one dimmer selection, but four? It’s silly and unnecessary, causing you extra, precious sleeping seconds when you’ve dragged yourself out of bed to turn it off. The remote has Power, Speed and Oscillation on it. Everything you need... unless the fan has a light 3x stronger than the sun on it. Even if you’ve turned the fan light off previously, the next time you change the speed of the fan, the light goes right back on. This is especially annoying when I’m trying to be sneaky, adjusting the fan in my child’s room. The timer settings for the fan are 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 and 8. This is also handy while being completely annoying. 1 hour? Who ever just needs a fan on for one hour — that couldn’t just use it for 2 hours? My family and I live in California, where the days in summer can be 20-30 degrees warmer than the evenings. Dressing my little one for the temperature in our house when he goes to bed, and the temperature it’s going to be 5-6 hours later is an epic math equation, full-on nightly parental discussion and something of a game of luck. I dress him warm enough to deal with the cool down, and use the fan to cool him while it’s still hot. However, 4 hours doesn’t yet bring us into enough of the cooler night temperatures to want the fan off, and 8 hours is too far in that he wakes up because he is cold. A 6-hour timer would have been perfect, but apparently there is someone out there that benefits from having a one-hour slot. Who? Beats me. The construction of the fan is nice and not too top heavy (my biggest concern for tower fans). The bottom pedestal (that clicks in, post-delivery) worked just fine on our previous version but has never clicked all the way in on this version. I dislike it because I’m scared that one day, the pedestal will break if the part that doesn’t click in like it’s supposed to, catches on something. For a fan that I have for my baby, it’s a decent way to go. Not to loud, good fan settings, gentle breezes, timer and dimmable lights. This fan just lacks the necessary components to get it into the end zone for me. Maybe next version.
