> 3 dayBought this to perform a DIY overhaul of my 20 year old hardwired alarm system. The alpha screen provides so much more information. The programming is a little complex for a first time DIY, but if you are patient and can consult someone for a little tech support it works out fine -- assuming you have the skills and understanding of the system. Overhaul included a new matching Honeywell panel.

> 3 dayI bought this to replace old Ademco vista 4120XM 20 years ago. The 6160 is the best replacement and easy to install. I didt have to program. My old zone programming was automatically recognized. This is easy to install and easy to use. The large alpha display allows one to describe each zone with clarity. Only reason I gave 4 * because it didt come with manual. However, lots youtube video online allowed to install with ease. I highly recommend this to replace most of Ademco old keypad panel.

> 3 dayNo errors, functions perfectly. Buttons feel stiff and rubbery, but it is not a typewriter. :) Very reliable so far. Recommended and I would buy again. Mind the draw on the ECP buss. Do not exceed your supply current unless you want to buy extra power supply for ECP. If you need more that two keypads, get a smaller one for the third that does not draw as much power.

> 3 dayHouse got struck by lightning and fried my safewatch board, which is a vista 20p. I replaced that but was having a tough time programming the new one as my house only had two of the 6150 displays. Hooked this one up on address 17 (the 5150 is using 16), followed a YouTube video step by step and got my entire system and every sensor working again. I think it can be done using a 5150, but this is way more intuitive as far as security displays go. I wish now I would have gotten the Rf version, but I may replace the other 5150 with one at some point. At least one 6160 is basically required for vista 20p.
