Honeywell Security 6160 Ademco Alpha Display Keypad

Like the install. buttons are a little hard to press, but programmed easily and works the way it is suppose to.

The system works just as advertised. The overly complex programming is the reason for the four stars. It could be much simpler. Everything came properly packaged and worked first time.

I replaced an older Ademco keypad with this one because the keys on the old one had started to be unusable. However, my panel is too old to allow this one to display When I changed the code to 16 it made the keypad inoperable and I quickly had to change it back. It did connect to the old panel and retrieved the same codes so that was a big help. The installation was otherwise easy.

Been using these for years

Replaced a 6150 with this 6160. Never buy a 6150. Without the alpha display, it is almost impossible to program, because if you are trying different settings to figure out what works, you are never sure you entered it correctly. I was trying to program for my 4-wire smoke detectors, finally got it to work using a combination of *56, *79, and *80 commands, but only with the 6160. My alarm system is an older version of the Vista 20P, but it would be good if they built them with on-board WIFI included (kidda like printers come now) and a nice desktop or even phone app for programming. Entering codes and settings takes me back 30 years when programming assembly language commands.

The system is much quieter and discreet than the previous model. Key pad is easy to use.

Easy to install. Good price. Excellent upgrade to compliment a Honeywell Vista 20p panel. Makes upgrading/programming so much easier being able to use an alphanumeric keypad. Really like the large, easy to read LCD display. More things in life should be this simple and efficient.

Product just as I expected, and advertised. Used it to replace a keypad on my existing wired system and it works perfectly. Easy to install and required no programming. Just what I needed.

This keypad has been in service for a couple weeks now. Its still working good and was really easy to set up with my Vista 20 alarm panel
