Honeywell Security 6160 Ademco Alpha Display Keypad

Perfect - item delivered as promised; packaged and instructions. Already installed this keypad to replace the one which stopped working, and it is functioning as it should.

When you get alarm system make sure that one of the panels is just like this one. Without it you will not be able to program new devices. I suggest for sellers to program the unit to ID# 16 because when its set to 31 by default people think that the item is defective. So if you have connected this panel and no numbers: 1. Restart your system, disconnect battery and disconnect and reconnect AC power supply 2. Press 1 and 3 same time within 60sec 3 Change to default vista ID number to 16 4. Done, reboot system again and connect battery.

These new key pads were so simple to install. I bought two pads and after the installation of the first I had an error message that a link was down. It turned out the data input and output wires were reversed though not sure where. Rolled those two wires and I was in business. Just completed the installation of the second unit and it came right up. For the past 13 years with the older ADEMCO unit I didnt realize I could activate the stay #3 and still leave. This pad gave me the message that it was possible. Comes in handy since I have animals that like to jump and have set off the alarm if Im away. No documentation on alarm codes etc. So dont throw your old documentation away. Over 90% of the error messages are the same.. Hole on the back of the wall plate aligned exactly with the screws and holes that existed. So in the end was unscrew and re screw a new back plate. Bottom line I am totally happy.

I am using this as a secondary control panel and it is working perfectly.

Worked great replacing 25year old Ademco displays when I updated the main panel to Vista 21IP with GSM (instead of landline). We are comfortable with how this system works, dont need the cell phone apps and new interfaces. Reused all the sensors and house wiring and main box.

Got this to install in my home. Ackerman wanted to charge $150. Both this and let the installer put it in. Works great and and a great buy
